2. The BOMBARDIER Q400 NextGen
aircraft is transforming the perception
of turboprops as a high-performance,
high-profit alternative to a jet.
As airlines around the world benefit
from its advanced capabilities, the
success of the turboprop lives on,
for now and the future.

the Q400 NextGen aircraft
has transformed the
perception of turboprops.
Optimized for short-haul operations,
the 70-to 86-seat Q400 NextGen
aircraft is a large, fast, quiet, and
fuel-efficient turboprop. They
provide the perfect balance of
passenger comfort and operating
economics with a reduced
environmental footprint.
The Q400 NextGen aircraft also
set new environmental standards.
Using 30-40% less fuel than older
jets they replace, they radically
reduce carbon emissions.
On short trips where speed isn’t
required, the Q400 NextGen
aircraft’s flexibility allows it to be
flown at an optimized short-sector
speed, while still offering block
time, cargo and maintenance
advantages. What’s more, the
aircraft is 15 decibels quieter than
ICAO Stage 4 noise standards, a
level that has raised the bar for
the entire industry.
The new Q400 NextGen aircraft
cabin offers new overhead bins
to accommodate more carry-on
baggage, while maintaining
passenger comfort. The enhanced
cabin is exceptionally bright and
comfortable and—thanks to Active
Noise and Vibration Suppression
(ANVS)—very quiet. No surprise
then, that the Q400 NextGen
aircraft are quietly revolutionizing
short-haul flying.

EXTRA CAPACITY SEATING OPTION
With the conversion of the baggage door into a passenger
exit and the substitution of passenger seats in place of the
forward cargo compartment, it is possible to increase the
capacity of the Q400 NextGen aircraft to 86 passengers,
offering operators even more flexibility.
With this extra capacity seating option, the Q400 NextGen
aircraft has a per-seat fuel burn advantage of up to 7%* and
a seat cost advantage of up to 17%* allowing access to new,
lower volume routes, while maintaining profitability and low
seat-mile costs.
