2. From Grassroots to Goal Posts
Cameroon Football Development Program (CameroonFDP) is a nonprofit organization founded by
University of Dayton graduate 08’, Justin Forzano, with the mission to improve the lives of African
youth with the game of soccer. CameroonFDP works to promote education, gender equity, health,
leadership and life skills through community sports by training local coaches and creating opportunities
for youth to play the game they love. With support from FIFA Football Hope in 2016-2017, we operate
educational youth soccer leagues in 5 communities, impacting hundreds of children in the Central
African nation. In the U.S., supporters help to create awareness, collect equipment, raise funds and
even travel to Cameroon to support our life-changing work.
3. Football for the Future
Soccer is life in Cameroon. All across the country, people live and breathe the game. Our founder,
Justin Forzano, saw this first-hand while working in country on the University of Dayton’s ETHOS
engineering projects in rural villages: every morning there was construction and every afternoon there
was soccer.
The welcoming nature of people, the community-
oriented culture, and the optimism of young adults who
believe in a better future for their country through the
education and empowerment of youth is what inspired
the founding of CameroonFDP.
The overwhelming feeling of hope that exists on a
soccer field, amidst all of the destruction and despair in
a poor country like Cameroon, is what drives our
mission and vision.
4. Sport for Community Development
CameroonFDP believes in the power of sport to change the world. We train local coaches to be
mentors and educators and create opportunities for youth to play their favorite game and learn
valuable skills to help them grow and succeed.
