Project Engineer (Supply chain specialist) - Kraken SPS
Objective of the Project:
The objective was for the contractor’s (Aker Solutions) project team to deliver a Subsea Production System
(SPS) suited to cater to the client’s (EnQuest UK Britain Limited) requirements and fulfill all contractual
obligations. Additionally, in doing so to ensure execution of the project with required levels of safety and
system quality, on-time delivery of deliverables and prove to be cost-effective
Nature of work:
The activities of the project included front-end engineering, basic engineering manufacturing/fabrication,
assembly, testing and delivery of the system. Although the project management was based in Oslo-Norway,
the engineering was performed by teams from various locations viz. Norway, UK, India, and Malaysia. The
manufacturing/fabrication of various sub-components of the system was carried out at different yards in
Norway while a lot of procurement engaged suppliers from all across the globe. Considering the nature of
work performed, the personnel would be based in engineering offices or factory/manufacturing
facilities/yards.
The entire project personnel are primarily categorized into work packages (WP). At the top of the project
organization was the Project Management-WP headed by the Project Director – other personnel in this team
includes Project Manager, Engineering Manager, Head of Safety & Quality, Cost controllers along with
personnel for other project administrative functions.
For me, as part of the Tie-In & Structures WP, I have had the opportunity to work as a right hand to Project
Area Manager (PAM) in Norway to link all the supply chain and Engineering activities for smooth execution of
Project
Supported the project team both from the head office (Norway) and India office and acts as a single point of
contact to the Project especially towards the Supply chain and Logistics team activities
During my active involvement in the Engineering and Procurement stages; I have been based at critical
supplier manufacturing yards during assembly and testing phases of the systems prior to load-out/delivery.
While on site worked mainly on planning, manufacturing stages with supplier and sub -supplier, Inspection of
parts, documentation, and progress report template. Supported Enefit to priotise the deliveries batch wise,
understand our Admin requirements and documentation part.Ensured that parts are physically ready along
with documentation at the time of Final Inspection.

become show-stoppers for the Project

assembly, testing and delivery of the system. Although the project management was based in Oslo-Norway,
the engineering was performed by teams from various locations viz. Norway, India, and Australia. The

6. Quality Assurance Engineer – SIAKAP SURF
Objective of the Project:
The objective was for the contractor’s (Aker Solutions) project team to deliver a subsea umbilical and riser
flow lines suited to cater to the client’s (McDermott Limited) requirements and fulfil all contractual obligations.
Additionally, in doing so to ensure execution of the project with required levels of safety and system quality,
on-time delivery of deliverables and prove to be cost-effective
Nature of work:
The activities of the project included front -end engineering, basic engineering manufacturing/fabrication,
assembly, testing and delivery of the system. Although the project management was based in Oslo-Norway,
the engineering was performed by teams from Malaysia. The manufacturing/fabrication of various sub -
components of the system was carried out at different yards in Malaysia.
As a part of Supply chain, I got the opportunity to work with Quality Assurance team headed from Malaysia
which is responsible for Inspection of components/parts and to ensure that these parts meet client
requirements and specifications.
Executed the task mainly from India office, reviewing and approval of documentation and while on site had
done physical inspection of parts as per approved Inspection and Test plan and project specification.
Quality Control Engineer – Revamping of Water Injection at Neelam and Heera Platforms
Objective of the Project:
The objective was for the contractor’s (Carlton Offshore Engineers) project team to revamp pressure vessels
and various structural parts along with valves and other related equipment’s for Water Injection system used
in process platforms operated by Client (Oil and Natural Gas Co-operation Limited)
Considering the criticality with respect to the field of Installation, the contractor has taken extreme care in
HSE and related activities to ensure smooth delivery without any loss time injuries. Additionally, in doing so
to ensure execution of the project with required levels of safety and system quality, on-time delivery of
deliverables and prove to be cost-effective
Nature of work:
The activities of the project included basic engineering manufacturing/fabrication, assembly, testing,
installation and delivery of the system. The project management and Engineering team was based in
Mumbai–India. The manufacturing/fabrication of various sub-components of the system was carried out at
contractor’s yards in India and installation carried out at process platforms
As a part of Quality Department, I got the opportunity to work on site as a Quality Assurance Engineer with
Project Execution team which is responsible for manufacturing and installation of components/parts and to
ensure that these parts meet client requirements and specifications.
Activities involved Inspection of vessels, welding of components, monitoring HSE, Coordination of inspection
with Third party Inspectors and client. Actively involved in leading the Project Execution team which consists
of Engineers, supervisors, welders, fitters and others. Monitored the manufactured parts in plant and on site
meet the client specification and requirements with respect to quality and documentation.
