He holds an MA in History from San José State University and a BA in History from UC Santa Barbara. He has received awards for his writing on local history topics. Currently he works as an educational consultant designing curriculum for the Steinbeck in the Schools project.

Martha Heasley Cox Center for Steinbeck Studies. Create cross-curricular
lessons, activities, and projects for use by middle and high school teachers
nationally. Units address various learning styles and academic abilities
and align with Common Core Standards.

Designed and implemented U.S. and World History curriculum for fifth
