providing fact based management.

Project Review Assurance and Governance is based on the following
management tenets:
Review grounds people in reality. By providing clear and independently
validated information to project stakeholders, reviews help people avoid
cognitive biases and information bottlenecks. Reviews help organizations
in execution of individual projects and overall decision making across
portfolio of projects.
Assurance focuses on assessment and confirmation if a project is likely
to succeed, is the project aligned to the objectives and what can be done
to help it succeed. Assurance teams typically report to project sponsors
and portfolio managers who have a more direct stake in success of the
project.
Governance defines who is takes what decisions, what constitutes ‘due
process’ for making those decisions (e.g. who needs to be consulted) and
how to ensure this process is followed. Review and assurance functions
support good governance by ensuring that business leaders and decision
makers have accurate information and understand their options.

How does PRAG work?
Project Review Assurance and Governance framework is based
around certain principles in order to ensure effectiveness:
1. Provides authority to the person accountable for the success of
the project
2. Allocates project ownership to a specialist team (e.g. PMO) not
to project stakeholders
3. Separates stakeholder management from project decision-
making activities
4. Separates project governance structure from organizational
governance structure
