2. Equipment list
• In order to complete our A2 production to a high standard, we must use a wide range of
equipment as this would help to produce our production and make the final piece look
professional. We will use the equipment mentioned in the further slides throughout the
course in order to achieve a well produced short film.
3. Hardware List
• This is all the equipment that we used that comes under the ‘tools and machine
equipment’ for our production. The images and description of the hardware we used will
be on the following slides.
4. External rode microphone
• The external rode microphone is going to be used to obtain the diegetic sound within our
production and to ensure that the quality of the sound is at a very high standard when
filming our scenes. It would also come in handy if we need to film a voiceover for any
scenes where the sound was disrupted.
5. Canon 700D
• This is the camera that we are going to film our production with. The camera is going to
be great for filming as it films in high quality and is very functional. The camera provides
many features, such as auto-focus which allows us to focus on certain objects in a shot to
add emphasis to it. Having used the same camera last year for my AS production, I will
find it quite easy to use for the second time, which would increase efficiency when
filming.
6. Camera Bag
• This bag is going to be used to carry the camera and its accessories in, such as the
batteries and its charger. The bag is lightweight and functional as it has padding to keep
the camera safe, which means that we are able to carry the camera around with a
minimised possibility of dropping it and damaging it.
7. Batteries
• These batteries are going to be used for the camera and other appliances such as the
light. We would have to use many batteries throughout our filming sessions because of
the time it takes to film all the shots to a high standard.
8. SD card
• This is going to be used to store all of our footage from our filming sessions. This is
beneficial as we are going to be able to transfer it from the camera to the iMac with ease.
The editor also needs to use the card to edit the footage on the MacBook pro.
9. Tripod
• The functional purpose of the tripod is to provide the camera with stability when filming.
When the camera is not handheld, it would most likely be put on the tripod as certain
shots require it, such as the ones with movement (pan/tilt).
10. MacBook Pro
• This is mainly going to be used by the editor in order to edit the footage we had given her.
This piece of hardware is beneficial as it is lightweight and available to use in other
locations other than in the media classroom.
11. iMac
• This desktop is the main hardware we are going to use to complete and upload our work
with as it was supplied to us by our media teachers in our class. This is where we are
going to store most of our raw footage and edit on as it has large amounts of space and
the system will also be much easier to use than a regular computer due to the advanced
software and simplicity of it.
12. USB
• We are going to use this to store our paperwork and transfer it to other computers
efficiently. It is a portable lightweight device that allows us to carry it around easily and
use it on any computer we want.
13. Phones
• We will be using iPhones within our production team to allow us to communicate with
each other as well as our actors. This is an efficient way to communicate because then we
would be able to make sure everything is good for the next filming sessions before hand.
I will also be using my phone in particular to take images for one of my tasks (Reece
picture), which shows that it is not only useful for communicating with each other.
14. Printer
• We will be using the printer to print out some things that would help us with our
production. This includes the script for our actors, still images to see exactly how we are
going to film our next scene, and also our production schedule which helps us to stay
organized.
