In academia, the pressure to publish is high and the competition intense. This can lead authors to follow unethical publication practices, such as salami slicing, duplicate publication, and simultaneous submission. Peer review is the most widely accepted model for setting a threshold of published scholarly material. With the move to digital publishing, it has come under attack with suggestions that it is 'broken', overloading reviewers and possibly no longer fit for purpose. This presentation discusses the challenges for peer review and some emerging new models. Ultimately, we may need to take a step back to ask what peer review is for and how these aims can best be achieved. >>>TOPIC: MEDIA'S INFLUENCE ON BODY IMAGE<<< PART 1: Assignment 3: Final Project Annotated Bibliography Craft a research question on the topic you selected in your first discussion question post. Then locate at least five articles from peer-reviewed journals that pertain to your question that will be used to write the introduction section of your research proposal. Submit these five citations in the form of an APA-style reference page. Under each citation, write one paragraph summarizing the main points of the article. As you read your articles, keep the following questions at hand; these will help you generate the information about each article. · What were the topic/research questions being investigated? · How was the study conducted (participants, materials, procedure, etc.)? · What did the results reveal? · How might these methodological considerations affect the research findings and the conclusions drawn from them? · How does this article fit in with your paper? How did it influence your own ideas about your paper? Based on your reading of the literature, what do you expect to find? Include a hypothesis and a title page for your submission. Submit your paper to the Submissions Area by the due date assigned . All written assignments and responses should follow APA rules for attributing sources. Assignment 3 Grading Criteria Maximum Points Created a research question based on a research topic approved by the instructor and submitted a testable hypothesis. 15 Submitted citations in the form of an APA-style reference page for five articles and included a paragraph summarizing each article and discussing its relevance. 40 Ensured that all the articles are from peer-reviewed journals. 20 Submitted a title page for the submission. 5 Wrote in a clear, concise, and organized manner; demonstrated ethical scholarship in accurate representation and attribution of sources; displayed accurate spelling, grammar, and punctuation. 20 Total: 100 PART 2: Instructions Based on the feedback you received on your submission from last week, submit a revised draft of your paper with this additional information: 1. Five additional references that could be used for your research paper and include a 1-2 sentence description for each of the five additional references, explaining how they fit with the research topic and the research question proposed. Make sure that these references come from scholarly sources using Argosy's library resources. 2. A very detailed outline of what you would like to cover in the intro/lit review of your paper. Write it as an outline and think about what you want each paragraph or section to cover. Paste your references into each section where the information from that article applies to the topic. Below is an example of the outline although the references have not been pasted in yet: a. Introduction or Statement of the Problem (e.g. Predictors of Depression ...

BA634 Current & Emerging Technology Research Paper 1 Understanding Evolving Technologies As we all know technology is evolving at a rate that, to some, seems overwhelming. These technologies often evolve to offer higher quality products and services at lower prices causing a disruption in markets that is sometimes perceived as unwelcome. These disruptive technologies are sometimes the results of innovative business models that are also part of the evolving processes of a competitive marketplace. This is an individual research paper required from BA634 students. As a Research Project, select one of the following research areas: Cloud Computing (Intranet, Extranet, and Internet) Machine Learning Artificial Intelligence Internet of Things (IoT) Robotics Medical Technology 1) Your research paper needs to be between 12-15 pages. 2) It needs be submitted as a WORD document. 3) The research paper must only include materials from peer reviewed journals and peer reviewed conference proceedings. APA formatted citations are therefore required for the final submission. Newspapers, websites (URLs), magazines, technical journals, hearsay, personal opinions, and white papers are NOT acceptable citations. 4) Each submission will be checked for plagiarism. All plagiarized documents will results in a grade of zero for the exercise. 5) If there is extensive synonym use or not understandable, long sentences, the document will results in a grade of zero for the exercise. 6) The final research paper must include your through analysis and synthesis of the peer reviewed literature used in your research paper. 7) There will be a limit of 3 images, tables, figures are to be included in the BA634 Current & Emerging Technology Research Paper 2 appendices and DO NOT count for page limit requirements. 8) Long quotations (i.e. paragraphs) are NOT permitted. Only one quoted sentence is permitted per page. 9) Footnotes are NOT permitted. Document Details Chapter 1 Introduction Background/Introduction In this section, present enough information about the proposed work such that the reader understands the general context or setting. It is also helpful to include a summary of how the rest of this document is organized. Problem Statement In this section, present a concise statement of a research-worthy problem addressed (i.e., why the work should be undertaken – don’t say required for the class). Follow the statement of the problem with a well-supported discussion of its scope and nature. The discussion of the problem should include: what the problem is, why it is a problem, how the problem evolved or developed, and the issues and events leading to the problem. Goal Next, include a concise definition of the goal of the work (i.e., what the work will accomplish). Aim to define a goal that is measurable. Research Questions Research que ...

In BC’s nearly-decade-old “new” curriculum, the curricular competencies describe the processes that students are expected to develop in areas of learning such as mathematics. They reflect the “Do” in the “Know-Do-Understand” model. Under the “Communicating” header falls the curricular competency “Explain and justify mathematical ideas and decisions.” Note that it contains two processes: “Explain mathematical ideas” and “Justify mathematical decisions.” I have broken it down into its separate parts in order to understand--or reveal--its meaning. The first part is commonplace in classrooms. By now, BC math teachers—and students—understand that “Explain mathematical ideas” means more than “Show your work.” Teachers consistently ask “What did you do?” and “How do you know?” This process is about retelling, not just of steps but of thinking. The second part happens less frequently. Think back to the last time that you observed a student make—a necessary precursor to justify—a mathematical decision. “Justify” is about defending. Like “explain,” it involves reasoning; unlike “explain,” it also involves opinion and debate. In order to reinterpret the curricular competency “Explain and justify mathematical ideas and decisions,” I will continue to take apart its constituent part “Justify mathematical decisions” and carefully examine the term “mathematical decisions.” What, exactly, is a “mathematical decision”? Below, I will categorize answers to this question. These categories, and the provided examples, may help to suggest new opportunities for students to justify.
