Students of Velammal Main School, Mogappair campus conducted Voters awareness
campaign on April 13 in its premises.
As a part of the initiative, students displayed placards insisting the voters to
exercise their democratic rights and ensure 100% polling. Around 500 students took
part in this awareness drive.
A press release said, messages such as “Each vote counts” and “Be counted” were
written on the placards.

Imayam Thara Bharathi programme in Bharathiya Vidya Bhavan, Mylapore.
Chief Guest for this programme was Kalaimamani Dr.V.G.Santhosham.Thara Bharathi award was given to
Photographer Video Ganesh.
Elimaiyin Inimai book was written by Kalaimamani Dr.V.G.Santhosham. It was released by Kalaimamani
Dr.Prof. Sarada Nambi Arooran. Programme was organised by Dr.Prof.Ulaganayagi Palani.

Fifty students of Velammal Nexus Schools, Chennai
bagged the credit of being selected in the Stage I of State
Level National Talent Search Examination conducted
by NCERT for secondary school level to identify and
recognize the students with the high intellect and skills
to pursue scholarship for the deserving candidates.
The examination is conducted every year at 2 levels:
Stage 1 (State level) and Stage 2 (National level).
Students who were selected in the first stage will
appear for the second stage of National Level Talent
Search Examination to be conducted by NCERT
scheduled on May 12, 2019.

During the launch Dr. Paresh k Doshi, Group Advisor, Functional Neurosurgery,
Apollo Hospitals said, “Awareness on Parkinson’s disease is high in Tamil Nadu but,
the knowledge on the importance of ‘multi-disciplinary’ care has not reached the
people. A person with Parkinson’s disease cannot be treated or cured completely by
visiting a Neurologist alone; he/she would require a complete and comprehensive
treatment to recover completely. Deep brain Stimulation is one such advanced
treatment for patients with severe movement disorders”.

The Programme started with Guruvandanam by Disciples of Smt.& Sri
K.V.Narayanaswamy followed by lighting the Kuthuvilakku by the dignitaries.
Dr.Bhaskar Ramamurthy, (Director of I.I.T) was the chief guest.
