AUTONOMOUS EMERGENCY BRAKING

INTRODUCTION
Many accidents are caused by
late braking and/or braking with
insufficient force. A driver may
brake too late for several reasons:
he is distracted or inattentive;
visibility is poor, or a situation may be very difficult
to predict because the driver ahead is braking
unexpectedly or a pedestrian crosses the street
without paying attention.
AUTONOMOUS EMERGENCY BRAKING
Autonomous: the system acts
independently of the driver to
avoid or mitigate the accident.
Emergency: the system will
intervene only in a critical situation.
Braking: the system tries to avoid
the accident by applying the brakes.
AEB : systems improve safety in two ways: firstly, they help to
avoid accidents by identifying critical situations early and
warning the driver; and secondly they reduce the severity of
crashes which cannot be avoided by lowering the speed of
collision and, in some cases, by preparing the vehicle and
restraint systems for impact. These systems are capable of
measuring the speed of a leading vehicle and matching it. They
can also reduce speed by cutting the throttle , downshifting
finally, activating the brakes Emergency-braking systems can also
be activated with a tire blowout
ADVANTAGES
Crashes can be reduced
It allows the diver to maintain the
directional stability and control over steering during braking
DISADVANTAGES
Driver should know the full software about this
working
It cannot be fitted during assembly
Cost is more
It take out the total control of the vehicle
CIRCUIT
COMPONENTS IN (AEB)
ULTRASONIC SENSOR (transmitter & receiver)
MICROPROCESSOR (ARDUINO UNO R3)
CAMERA
BRAKING SYSTEM
WORKING
Ultrasonic sensor contains transmitter and receiver
units, and as ultrasonic transmitter detects the
obstacles by transmitting the signals and reflects back to
ultrasonic receiver unit.
Ultrasonic sensor input is then used to determine if
there are any objects present in the path of vehicles .
If an object is detected the system can then determine
if the speed of vehicle is greater than the speed of the
object in front of it.
 Camera recognised the distance to and shape of
objects ahead and also causes the steering to vibrate
when the vehicle moves out of the lane. It also
activates the brakes when the car moves out of the
road.
 By which through Arduino dumped C Program the
calculations will takes place through PIC
microcontroller according to given maximum distance,
and distance between automatic system and obstacle.
 A significant speed differential may indicate that a
collision is likely to occur, in which case the system is
capable of automatically activating the brakes.
