 Speech is the expression of ideas and
thoughts by means of vocal sounds, or the
faculty of thus expressing ideas and
thoughts.
 Speech is communication through talking or a
talk given to the audience.
example :
a. An example of speech is a conversation
between two people.
 A presentation usually has visual aids. A speech
is more reliant on the spoken word. When you
give a speech, you are talking to your audience
and they are listening. When you give a
presentation, your audience is usually learning
something from you and you want them to take
some kind of action.
 A presentation is a process of presenting a topic
to an audience. It is typically a introduction
,lecture , or speech is meant to inform, or build
goodwill.
 A good speech should be clear and should
convey information to the audience in a manner
which can be understood and appreciated by it.
 A good speech in a business context should be
polite communication with the audience as a
whole and yet to each member of the audience.
 In a business context a speech should try to
inform .
 A good speech should be interesting .
1.Easy to understand: If the speaker delivers his or
her speech in front of the audience, it becomes
easy understanding. So, the main advantage of
speech is understandable.
2.Time saving: Direct speech between the
speaker and the listener saves time to
communicate information.
3.Cost saving: Direct speech saves money
because it does not require writing instruments
like pen, paper, computer.
1.Inaccuracy : The main disadvantages of speech
is inaccuracy. If the speaker fails to understand
the need of the audience, speech become
worthless.
2.Conflict: Speech cannot e kept in mind for long
. So it can create conflicts among the parties
concerned.
3.Lack of secrecy: In this form of communication,
the important and secret information should be
disclosed.
 A good speaker is lively, interested and vital. He
makes sure that he is keenly interested in the subject
he is speaking about and he is taking pains to make
the audience interested in it.
 A good speaker has a sense of responsibility to his
listeners and to others. He does take more time than
what it allotted to him.
 A good speaker keeps his head. He is not carried off
by over confident.
 A good speaker has a sense of leadership, he stands
up tall, he talks eye to eye .
SPEECH
 Speech are more
formal.
 Speeches are given to
larger crowds, and
therefore must to
appeal to the
emotions.
 Speeches can be made
to entertain and not to
inform.
PRESENTATION
 Presentation are more
informal.
 Presentation are
generally given to
smaller groups, and
therefore are more
detail- oriented.
 Presentations can do
all two- inform and
entertain.
