3. FOOD OF TIBET
Food, just like Tibetan culture and people has a
very distinct character. Tibetan food is not only
sustenance, but also helps Tibetan people survive
the harsh climates. Their food keeps them warm,
gives them energy, helps them with the high
altitude, and gives them nutrient essentials to the
harsh climate.
9. TIBETAN FESTIVALS
Tibetan festivals such as losar, Shoton, and the
Bathing Festival are deeply rooted in indigenous
religion, and also contain foreign influences. Each
person takes part in the Bathing Festival three times:
at birth, at marriage, and at death. It is traditionally
believed that people should not bathe casually, but
only on the most important occasions. Tibetan
festivals are a high source of entertainment and can
include many sports such as yak racing.
