Instructions on what to do and how to plan for a mini-liposuction to obtain adipose stem cells.

1. PREOPERATIVE INSTRUCTIONS
 Be sure that you have informed us of any previous surgery, allergies, health problems, or current
medications that you are taking.
 Do not take Aspirin, Vitamin E, Fish Oil or anti-inflammatories for one week prior to or after surgery as
these may cause bleeding. If you need pain relief use Panadol. Be sure to take any medications
prescribed to you as directed.
 Do not consume any alcoholic beverages for several days before surgery and one week after surgery.
Alcohol may cause bleeding and may interfere with the other medications you are taking.
 Do not eat anything for at least 4 hours prior to the procedure. If you need to take regular medication,
do so with a small amount of water.
 Please shave any pubic hair that may be in the region of your procedure prior to coming into the clinic.
 On the day of the procedure, wear loose, warm clothing, and bring a pair of warm socks.
 Please advise our staff of any removable dentures or contact lenses. Please do not wear contact
lenses on the day of surgery.
 Please do not wear any jewelry or bring any valuables on the day of the procedure. Whilst we take
every precaution to ensure the safety of your valuables, we cannot be responsible for any lost items.
 Have a responsible adult to bring you to and from the surgery, not a taxi driver or yourself. Do not
plan to drive a vehicle for 24 hours
 Arrange for someone to stay with you for the first night after surgery.
 If you develop a cold or infection of any kind, especially a skin infection, your surgery may have to be
postponed, so please call us to double check
 Surgery will be performed under local anesthesia and/or some Intra Muscular sedation.
 Throughout the procedure I will be assisted by at least one other member of staff.
 The procedure will take between 1½ hours and 3hrs. You will be in recovery for at least one hour, but
may sleep longer depending on how well you come out of the sedation. Please check with our staff on
the day of the procedure for an approximate pick up time.
 It is imperative that you read the post operative instructions both before and again after the
procedure. These instructions are for your benefit and speedy recovery. It is also recommended that
you give a copy of the post operative instructions to the person who will be taking care of you after the
procedure.
