Pay with Points is a capability and frameworks which facilitate Amex merchant to provide option to card
members to carry out their transactions using their MR points. This is first of its kind feature in Credit
Cards domain to use rewards points dynamically at merchant POS terminals, which has been nominated
for Amex Technology Patent in US. In live transaction certain Amex hosted REST APIs used to be called
by merchant to fetch MR points Balance and other eligibilities matrix to provide Pay with Point option to
CM, and CM can choose this PWP option to complete their respective transaction which intern call other
Amex hosted APIs.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Amex-GCT Mainframe Delivery MF CoE team is part of the Amex Global Corporate Technologies
organization. GCT Mainframe Delivery COE owns delivery around mainframe applications that support
American Express Finance and Treasury functions catering to Procurement, Accounting, Controllership,
Reconciliations and Treasury domain.
The project deals with Walker G/L system which is a Mainframe based customized system to support the
accounting, reporting, reconciliation and financial analysis needs of AMEX. This system is intended to
provide both online and batch access to financial accounting information. It also enhances flexibility to
support organizational changes. It not only improves the quality and timeliness of management
information but also increases user productivity. The system supports organizations with multiple-
currency operating and reporting requirements. Apart from performing accounting functions in any
currency. There are several features that allow information recorded in one currency to be stated in any
other currency based on user requirements.
The Journal Editing & Tracking System (JETS) is the American Express Global Point-of-Arrival System for
automated accounting. JETS are currently installed in more than forty-five markets supporting journal
entries for more than twenty-five financial applications (e.g. Fincads, Triumph, Optima, ESP, etc). This
includes mainframe; minicomputer and microcomputer based financial applications.
