Tuition continues to rise in both public and private institutions.
US DEPT OF EDUCATION - COLLEGE SCORECARD (WITH DATA FROM SOURCES INCLUDING IPEDS,
NSLDS, AND DEPARTMENT OF TREASURY)
4. The College Scorecard aggregates job placement and salary
data. Also, recent changes to the FAFSA allow applicants to use
prior tax year data (helping students apply for financial aid and
receive offers earlier than ever before).
• Colleges have less time to cultivate relationships with students
before making an offer
• Students have more time to compare, appeal, and negotiate with
institutions.
Families are better equipped to
make college choices based on
(perceived) Return on
Investment (ROI).
Federal initiatives now offer
consumers more transparency
about college costs and
salaries.
