Problems encountered
1.
2. Initial problem: When we were capturing our
footage, we noticed that the wind was greatly
interfering with the sound levels on the
camera.
Encountered: General sound adjustments
were made such as key framing the affected
footage and decreasing the sound of the
wind, replacing it with the voiceover.
Effect: This provided a fairly rapid and simple
resolving of our problem by adjusting the
sound levels.
3. Initial problem: We wanted a sense of enigma and
members of the group were not available to
capture footage at night time and this meant that
we could not achieve the sense of enigma as well
as we had planned (enigma created in darkness).
Encountered: We edited the video, making the
alleyway (venue of the deal) a lot darker and
slightly blurred to add a subjective daze which
will be within the character’s experience of
events.
Effect: This was also another rapid and not too
complex adjustment.
4. Initial problem: The walking scene leading up to the
revealing of the ‘night runner’ was seen as near eternal in
some members of the audience’s eyes.
Encountered: We decided to add a new scene in the hero’s
house (not included on storyboard) which revealed some
of his characteristics. This then exposed an all new
problem as there was no motion in the footage as it was
on a different camera (not compatible with Premiere Pro).
We then attempted to convert using Encoder which
eventually provided a set-back to our schedule due to the
fact that we needed to re-film the footage.
Effect: Although we had to prepare for a set-back, we
handled it well by swiftly responding to the error and re-
filming commenced with rapid response. It was quite a
complex process of trial and error: discovering the
fault, identifying the correct format and responding to
this.
