The first mistake of many online programs is that they try to replicate something we do in face-to-face classes, mapping the (sometimes pedagogically-sound, sometimes bizarre) traditions of on-ground institutions onto digital space. We need to recognize that online learning uses a different platform, builds community in different ways, demands different pedagogies, has a different economy, functions at different scales, and requires different choices regarding curriculum than does on-ground education. Even where the same goal is desired, very different methods must be used to reach that goal.

In A Room of One's Own, Virginia Woolf writes, "To sacrifice a hair of the head of your vision, a shade of its colour, in deference to some Headmaster with a silver pot in his hand or to some professor with a measuring-rod up his sleeve, is the most abject treachery." Ultimately, the future of education is humans not tools, and our efforts at hacking, forking, and remixing education should all be aimed at making and guarding space for students and teachers. If there is a better sort of mechanism that we need for the work of teaching, it is a machine, an algorithm, a platform tuned not for delivering and assessing content, but for helping all of us listen better to students. But we can’t get to a place of listening to students if they don’t show up to the conversation because we’ve already excluded their voice in advance by creating environments hostile to them and their work. Any authority within the space of the classroom must be aimed at fostering agency in all the members of our community.

Radical openness demands the classroom be a space for relationships and dialogue. Far too many tools we’ve built for teaching are designed to make grading students convenient—or designed to facilitate the systematic observation of teachers by administrators.

The majority of development in edtech is driven by the bureaucratic traditions of education more than the pedagogical ones. If we object to the increasing standardization of education, how and where do we build sites of resistance? What strategies can we employ to guard ourselves and our students? Plagiarism in the Digital Age: Voices from the Front Lines What's Happening on College Campuses Today? A 75-minute Virtual Conference Series of moderated online panel discussions Plagiarism is a growing concern and a hot topic in the academic community. Many time-pressured students rely on the internet to locate convenient sources to fulfill their writing assignments, sometimes committing cut-and-paste plagiarism. College faculty, administrators and students believe that the online environment encourages cheating, and are looking for the best ways to encourage students' original work while helping them become better writers. Please make plans to participate in this important online discussion. You’ll hear from a panel of leading experts who will share their experiences from the front lines of the digital plagiarism issue. You’ll have an opportunity to submit questions to the panel, plus you’ll have access to a range of “best practice” online resources you can use immediately.

How does reading and learning change on the Internet? You are invited into a conversation about the nature of information on the Internet and its implications for how we think about reading comprehension and critical thinking in a digital information age. Julie first explores how the Internet poses new opportunities for authentic inquiry, collaborative conversations, and students to develop their voices as active citizens. Then, she describes the reading challenges that extend beyond traditional reading comprehension skills to encompass rapidly changing literacies for questioning, locating, evaluating, synthesizing, and communicating information during online inquiry. Finally, she highlights important areas for future research in order to keep up with the changing technologies that will continue to redefine what literacy means in the future.

Keynote at WILU2019, The Workshop for Instruction in Library Use Scaffolding can create points of entry and access but can also reduce the complexity of learning to its detriment. And too often we build learning environments in advance of students arriving upon the scene. We design syllabi, assemble content, predetermine outcomes, and craft assessments before having met our students. We reduce students to data. And learning to input and output. Radical openness isn't a bureaucratic gesture, isn't linear, offers infinite points of entry. It has to be rooted in a willingness to sit with discomfort. Radical openness demands educational institutions be spaces for relationships and dialogue. bell hooks writes, “for me this place of radical openness is a margin—a profound edge. Locating oneself there is difficult yet necessary. It is not a 'safe' place. One is always at risk. One needs a community of resistance.” For hooks, the risks we take are personal, professional, political. When she says that “radical openness is a margin,” she suggests it is a place of emergent outcomes, a place of friction, a place of critical thinking.

Information fluency is the intersection of information literacy, computer literacy and critical thinking and is a “must” for participants of the 21st century. Mairn explores a variety of resources, research tools, and tips that can be integrated into course management systems and/or traditional classroom settings to help build fluency and develop critical thinking. These tools range from using real-time web/mobile services like Twitter to using conventional econtent more creatively and other tools/services to construct a learning environment — online or face-to-face — that is conducive to information discovery, sharing, and lifelong learning.

The report will be any topic related to fossil fuels in China. This could include current events in the news, past history, or various components of the fossil fuel industry. You must use a minimum of 3 sources in your Report and these should be listed in your Reference List. All references must be referred to in the text. At least one of the sources must be from published material (journals, magazines, books, or their online PDF equivalents, and having an identified authorship and publisher). Note that you need to put the material in your Reports into your own words, except for material that you put directly in quotes. Report in a way that anyone can understand. Use a double-space Times New Roman 10pt font for a minimum text length of 2-3 pages. The text length does not include the Title Page, References List, Figures and Tables which would be on additional pages. Figures and Tables are required and should be put at the end of the Report with one Figure or Table to a page along with a Figure or Table Caption. The Captions should also include the reference to where the Figure or Table was taken from, and this should also be included in the Reference List. Project topic: Ethics and the college student The final project must be presented using a digital tool that allows you to incorporate different modes of communicating the concepts you learned in this class as well as sources found in your research (for example: audio recordings related to your research; visual representations of data like charts and graphs; animation and images). Power Point Here are a few presentation tools that you may explore for use to create your Week 8 Assignment Final Research Project. Choose a tool that is useful to you, that you are comfortable using (try out tutorials on each site), and that best presents your work developed for your project. Please remember the assignment is a presentation not a research paper. Use PowerPoint (found on computers with Microsoft Office) Before submitting your project for credit: · Proofread carefully; · The project begins with an attractive title section (including information found on an APA compliant title page ); A brief outline of the presentation appears early in the project (utilize your final outline modified for brevity from your Week 4 forum activity); Link to my outline: https://edge.apus.edu/access/content/attachment/302137/Forums/3d51fa6c-a06f-4a74-814f-1c210564d86a/outline.tp.coll100.pdf · · The presentation includes introduction, body main ideas, and conclusion; touches on all important concepts of your topic · The presentation integrates several visual, audio, or animated components; · At least one paraphrase or quotation in-text citation (with APA citation) is included; · Attribute information in the presentation to the resources (i.e. cite your work!): · A summary restates the main ideas you presented (i.e., conclusion); · An APA formatted reference list is included at the end of the presentation; · Review th ...

Integrity is loosely defined as an adherence to moral and ethical principles; soundness of moral character and honesty. Together, integrity and academic integrity translates into one’s current and future profession. A student, at any level in scholarship, may experience periods where the feelings of being overwhelmed and stressed are present. Moreover, at the doctorate level, where academic demands are greater for students due to the level of scholarly research and critical thinking involved. While in pursuit of scholarship, it is a fundamental expectation of all students to submit original work and to properly cite or give credit to other’s work. Anyone who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with their own hands, that they may have something to share with those in need (Ephesians 4:28, New International Version). While in the Doctorate of Strategic Leadership (DSL) program, to achieve and maintain academic integrity it is important for me to keep my career goals in mind: 1) to become a well-respected, contributing member of the academic community 2) to lend my expertise as a consultant in strategic leadership to better organizations. Through keeping my career goals in the forefront, I am able to remind myself that the challenging academic assignments and tests in the DSL program will assist me in gaining knowledge of course content and my grades will show how well the goal of knowledge is fully achieved. In addition to keeping my personal goals in mind, the awareness of Liberty University’s academic integrity and honor codes will assist with my achievement and maintenance of academic integrity while navigating through the DSL program. Universities and colleges pen the requisite of academic integrity and honor codes into syllabus but rarely engage the student in instruction regarding academic misconduct and how it can be avoided. There appears to be an assumption among public and private schools, colleges and universities that students should have an understanding the meaning of academic integrity but few professors explicitly address what plagiarism means and provide explicit examples of plagiarism (Evering & Moorman, 2012). In this digital age, the avenues by which students access written material and information are limitless. No longer are the days of only performing resea.

The pricing and discounting feature is very essential for Odoo POS. Global discount is actually a discount that will apply to the entire order. And it indicates that the discount is applied to every item in the order, regardless of how much each item costs separately. This slide will show how to manage global discounts in odoo 17 POS.

Wizards are very useful for creating a good user experience. In all businesses, interactive sessions are most beneficial. To improve the user experience, wizards in Odoo provide an interactive session. For creating wizards, we can use transient models or abstract models. This gives features of a model class except the data storing. Transient and abstract models have permanent database persistence. For them, database tables are made, and the records in such tables are kept until they are specifically erased.

While single melodic lines are simpler and more straightforward, they still allow for creativity and emotional expression. Meanwhile, the simultaneous occurrence of multiple melodic lines can create a more intricate and complex musical structure that challenges the listener's ear and engages their attention.
