Hello everyone. I’m Ivan and my company Orioly is helping small travel agencies become mobile.
This guy here is Ryan. He owns a small travel agency in Canada, Nova Scotia. Ryan is a passionate traveler, his employees too. There offer fantastic tours around Nova Scotia. Ryan loves his work but there’s one thing he’s not happy about it – handling all information about booking and cost calculations.
This is a typical picture of his desktop – one night before going on a round trip of Nova Scotia. Ryan is not using enterprise travel solutions because of several reasons: they are too expensive, they’re not suitable for his business, they are created only for desktop. So he uses basic office tools and that’s why Ryan and his employees are very unefficient, they are wasting too much time organizing data and checking if everything is on it’s place.
Then Ryan heard about Orioly and his was pretty happy with the concept. Orioly is a SaaS solution that helps him organize bookings, upcoming travels, travel offer, cost calculations, invoices. It works on desktop but it very important to Ryan that Orioly is working properly on mobile devices. Why’s that important? Let’s say Ryan goes on a round trip. He wants to know what’s going on in his office. So he can take his iPad, connect on Orioly and check latest bookings, invoices and booking capacity. He can also check latest updates, check his business anytime and anywhere. And above all that, while he’s away, Orioly data is published on his website that’s powered by Orioly platform so his potential customers can get all neccessary information and book online. His website is designed so it can work properly on desktop, tablet or smartphone. And Ryan doesn’t have to worry about any eCommerce problems. His getting his business workflow improved and now he can get online booking without any need of an IT department. What Orioly makes different from current solutions is that it’s focused on small travel agencies, works on any type of devices and gives small agencies out-of-the-box eCommerce solution without any need to invest in IT department or IT infrastructure.
Ryan is a typical customer of Orioly. Our project is targeting small travel agencies worldwide (have less than 10 employees). They are owned by passionate travelers and according to our research there are around 300.000 potential customers of Orioly. According to Gartner, small travel agencies are generating around 20% of overall annual revenue in travel agency market.
Our revenue model is based on monthly or annual subscription. At this point we plan two types of subscription.Standard subscription will include business solution for travel agenices, will full subscription will provide business solution with included eCommerce website. At the moment Orioly is self-funded, we reached our potential customers and according to our sales projections, marketing plan we plan to make a revenue of 100.000 $ in our first year. We believe that in January 2014 we’ll make Orioly a self-sustainable project with expanded team that will reach much bigger audience in 2014.We plan to promote our solution through direct sales, tourist board, travel associations, on several major global tourism fairs. We already reached couple of national tourist boards (Bavarian Tourist Board) and they are interested to find out more about our project.
Orioly team is made of IT guys experienced in travel software development, web development and advisors that owns travel agencies. With their knowledge we are trying to reach customers and help them solve their problems.
At the moment we have 19 LOIs of customers who want to try our offer. Our plan is to have MVP version (business office solution) of the product in March and beta version in May (business solution + agency website).
