Research
• I researched 4 different companies that make clothes. The first company was Superdry
as they are my favourite company. Superdry had the style and the designs of their
clothes and I wanted to have those aspects for my clothing brand. Also the price range
of Superdry I some thing I wanted to use. I had different designs for my t-shirts and
hoodies and I like to say that Superdry inspired them. I then researched Jack and
Jones which I liked the quality of their clothes as they didn’t have many good designs
and I wanted a qualitative aspect for my brand. I then researched Syndicate Original as
I liked how they display their products and I displayed my products in a similar way.
Finally I looked at Sidemen Clothing because of their phone cases however I didn’t
create any phone cases as I didn’t like how my designs looked on them which would
be a negative for my research. A positive would be that 3 of these companies gave me
something to take from them. I did a questionnaire which helped me choose the
colours that I used for my suits t-shirts as well with my own choices. I also did 2
interviews. In interview 2, they said that they would pay up to £20 but it depends on
the quality and I made my t-shirts quality. I decided to do my audience profile. My age
range was 12+ for my primary and 7+ for my secondary because 12+ will be perfect
for my products and 7+ if anyone else wants to wear my products. Gender was mixed
because my products are unisex. My psychographic was belongers as my brand is
from the UK. The social status is middle and lower class because my products are
cheap enough for them two social statuses. Some strengths for my products compared
to these is that I have a good style which I wanted to similar to Superdry however it
ended up looking like the Jack and Jones designs as they are simple.
Planning
• When I started my initial plans I was going to create a clothing brand, magazine or a
poster. My mind map my other options was a music magazine like Kerrang or I was
going to do rollercoaster posters. I decided not to do these because I had done a
magazine twice and I didn't’t enjoy doing them and for the posters I thought that I
wouldn’t have enough still or time to make more than one up to quality. I chose a
clothing brand because I wanted to create my own brand. At first when I was thinking
of my brand it was going to be based on a blue sapphire and I would have called my
company Sapphire however it could have been misleading and wouldn’t have worked
with as well because people usually think of the colour blue when they think of a
sapphire and I didn’t want that limitation. I then chose to base my brand on the four
card suits because they are very noticeable and popular symbols. I felt that these
symbols would look good on a piece of clothing. I said that I would create t-shirts,
hoodies, hats and phone cases however I only created t-shirts and hoodies because I
couldn’t find a good template for the specific items like phone case and I ran out of
time. My initial plans helped as I could of made something else and I may have not
enjoyed producing either a magazine or posters. In my pre-production I had put many
fonts on my style sheet however I didn’t use any of them because they didn’t go well
with my logo design that I did. Overall I think I feel like I gave myself a bit too much
too do so I ended up doing a lot less than I could of. However I do like the products
that designed. A strength of planning is that I changed my idea to something else so I
could have a brand that has an original style to the products with some recognizable
symbols. A weakness is that I had some designs and products that I gave myself to do
however when it came to production I had too many designs/products to make that I
had no time to do them. Also I would of liked to see how the other brand would of
turned out to compare if I would of liked it over the brand I finished with.
Time Management
• Overall my time management was mediocre because I created the products that I
wanted but there were other concepts that I could created but I didn’t have time
for. This was because I forgot a lot of designs and were taking in new designs
therefore becoming very confusing. I could of improved my designs if I had more
time. I had to create these designs before creating my webpage so I could put my
products on there. This is because I could put the aesthetic of my designs to the
webpage. In my experiments I made some concepts of the products I would
produce which are very similar to my final products. I stuck to the experimental
designs as I really liked how they looked and I wanted to see if I could improve
how they looked which I believe I did. I couldn't do anything in the half term so I
had to start drawing my logo to put on my products the first week back. I was
also following my schedule that I created in my pre-production but I felt that I
had too much to create which I ended up not following it correctly. I also had a
small idea of how the logo would look however I didn't know if it would work
and I had to scrap some of the fonts that I wanted to use. However it was easy to
work in Photoshop as I had some skills that I could use to improve my different
products. I could create the designs quickly due to the compatibility of a drawing
tablet to the computer. I could of planned my designs on paper so I wouldn't
forget the designs that I wanted to do. This would have made the process easier as
I could create and follow a better schedule for my pre-production and I could've
done all my designs quicker as well.
Technical Qualities
Technical Qualities
Similarities:
The t-shirts are both crew neck t-
shirts.
They both have the pocket design
with the logo.
They are both shown off the
similarly as they are both laid
down.
I have followed a common
convention with the pocket design.
Differences:
My design is a lot more simple
compared to Superdry's.
The Superdry t-shirt has more than 4
colours and my product has 3 colours.
My design is a lot more simple
compared to Superdry's.
My logo on the t-shirt is bigger than
the Superdry product.
I used Photoshop to create the design
of this t-shirt. I also used a drawing
tablet to create my own drawing of the
design. However I do not know what
program they made their design on and
what they used to create them.
Aesthetic Qualities
I like how my products turned out as they are
all quite simple however they all have a very
qualitative look to them which I went for. I
enjoy every design that I created because they
have a really good aesthetic and I enjoyed
creating these designs. If I had more time I
would of created more designs because the
hoodies are just a recolour and the card suits t-
shirt is also a recolour. I like how the letters in
the logo are in the card suits. If I had more time
I would of altered the logo because I didn’t get
much time to experiment with it. The webpage
has a good aesthetic while being quite simple
because I wanted it to be very similar to my
product designs with the consistent red, black
and red colour scheme. I like the repetitive card
suits t-shirt as it fits the brands aesthetic very
well. My audience would enjoy the style that I
created because they will like the colour
scheme due to the contrast between the colours.
Also they will like the different colours for my
card suit t-shirts.
Audience Appeal
The audience I wanted for my clothing brand was 12+ for
primary audience and 7+ for secondary because my products
will be mainly for 12+ and 7+ is for anyone who enjoys my
products and would want to wear my products. I chose this
age range of 12+ (primary audience) because my products
are quite basic as teenagers don't necessarily wear flashy
clothes and prefer the basic looking clothes. I chose 7+
(secondary audience) as they may also like these designs that
I have created. The gender for my products is mixed because
I made my products unisex. This could apply towards the
products I have created so people could find the correct size
that they need. My psychographic will be belongers because
my brand was created in the UK and people may want to be
loyal to my brand. This can be applied to the brand in general
as they may enjoy all my products. The social status is
middle class for primary audience and lower class for
secondary audience because my products aren't to expensive
for lower class but enough for the middle class to buy. This
can be applied to the website so they can buy my products.
Peer Feedback
Feedback 1
• What did you like about the product?
• I like the simple designs of the products as it gives them a
very stylish look. I also like the logo of the brand as it is
creative.
• What improvements could have been made to the
product?
• I feel like he could of made more products with more
products like trousers and other accessories as well as
making more designs or the t-shirts and hoodies.
Feedback 2
• What did you like about the product?
• I like the variety of colours for the card suit t-shirts and I
would buy one if I could. The logo is also quite stylish and
should be shown more on the clothes designs.
• What improvements could have been made to the
product?
• There should be more designs and you should of made
adverts for your brand to appear on other websites.
Feedback 3
• What did you like about the product?
• I like how you used diamonds, spades, hearts and clubs for
the logo.
• What improvements could have been made to the
product?
• I think you could’ve made some designs with just the name
of your brand and not incorporating the card suits.
Therefore you would get more original designs and not just
a recolour of one of the designs.
Peer Feedback Summary
• What do you agree with from your peer feedback?
• In in feedback 1, they said I should create more products like trousers
and accessories. In feedback 2, they said I should’ve created
advertisements for the brand. I agree with these as I was going create
a trouser and phone case design however I ran out of time. I also
think that adverts would of looked good as I could of found a website,
screenshotted it and done my advert over another advert. But in all of
them they said I should create more designs which I can agree with
because there isn’t many original designs and just recolours.
• What do you disagree with from your peer feedback?
• In feedback 3, they said I should’ve created designs that don’t include
the card suits. I disagree as it would take the whole aesthetic away
from my brand. It wouldn’t be the same as my brand is focused on the
card suits and it would look like a different brand if I didn’t
incorporate them into my designs.
Peer Feedback Summary
• I would of liked to design something like joggers/tracksuit bottoms and phone
cases because I could’ve put my logo or a brand new design on the products. I
would’ve created some more t-shirt and hoodies because I could've made some
designs that are better than the ones that I have now. However I also like the
simple designs but I think the products could’ve had more on them. I could’ve
also created advertisements for my brand as I could either do them on websites
or created a video advert and wear a blank hoodie or t-shirt then put my designs
on them. I would also improve some of my current designs because there is
some small parts of my products that I would like to change. I could of also
done some better plans like drawing out my different designs so I didn't forget
them and it would of improved my time management as well. This would've
improved my schedule as I could choose which days I would make certain
designs and it would've made it a lot quicker.

Superdry had the style and the designs of their clothes and I wanted to have those aspects for my clothing brand. Also the price range of Superdry I some thing I wanted to use. I had different designs for my t-shirts and hoodies and I like to say that Superdry inspired them. I then researched Jack and Jones which I liked the quality of their clothes as they didn’t have many good designs and I wanted a qualitative aspect for my brand. I then researched Syndicate Original as I liked how they display their products and I displayed my products in a similar way. Finally I looked at Sidemen Clothing because of their phone cases however I didn’t create any phone cases as I didn’t like how my designs looked on them which would be a negative for my research. A positive would be that 3 of these companies gave me something to take from them. I did a questionnaire which helped me choose the colours that I used for my suits t-shirts as well with my own choices. I also did 2 interviews. In interview 2, they said that they would pay up to £20 but it depends on the quality and I made my t-shirts quality. I decided to do my audience profile. My age range was 12+ for my primary and 7+ for my secondary because 12+ will be perfect for my products and 7+ if anyone else wants to wear my products. Gender was mixed because my products are unisex. My psychographic was belongers as my brand is from the UK. The social status is middle and lower class because my products are cheap enough for them two social statuses. Some strengths for my products compared to these is that I have a good style which I wanted to similar to Superdry however it ended up looking like the Jack and Jones designs as they are simple.
  • 4. Planning • When I started my initial plans I was going to create a clothing brand, magazine or a poster. My mind map my other options was a music magazine like Kerrang or I was going to do rollercoaster posters. I decided not to do these because I had done a magazine twice and I didn't’t enjoy doing them and for the posters I thought that I wouldn’t have enough still or time to make more than one up to quality. I chose a clothing brand because I wanted to create my own brand. At first when I was thinking of my brand it was going to be based on a blue sapphire and I would have called my company Sapphire however it could have been misleading and wouldn’t have worked with as well because people usually think of the colour blue when they think of a sapphire and I didn’t want that limitation. I then chose to base my brand on the four card suits because they are very noticeable and popular symbols. I felt that these symbols would look good on a piece of clothing. I said that I would create t-shirts, hoodies, hats and phone cases however I only created t-shirts and hoodies because I couldn’t find a good template for the specific items like phone case and I ran out of time. My initial plans helped as I could of made something else and I may have not enjoyed producing either a magazine or posters. In my pre-production I had put many fonts on my style sheet however I didn’t use any of them because they didn’t go well with my logo design that I did. Overall I think I feel like I gave myself a bit too much too do so I ended up doing a lot less than I could of. However I do like the products that designed. A strength of planning is that I changed my idea to something else so I could have a brand that has an original style to the products with some recognizable symbols. A weakness is that I had some designs and products that I gave myself to do however when it came to production I had too many designs/products to make that I had no time to do them. Also I would of liked to see how the other brand would of turned out to compare if I would of liked it over the brand I finished with.
  • 5. Time Management • Overall my time management was mediocre because I created the products that I wanted but there were other concepts that I could created but I didn’t have time for. This was because I forgot a lot of designs and were taking in new designs therefore becoming very confusing. I could of improved my designs if I had more time. I had to create these designs before creating my webpage so I could put my products on there. This is because I could put the aesthetic of my designs to the webpage. In my experiments I made some concepts of the products I would produce which are very similar to my final products. I stuck to the experimental designs as I really liked how they looked and I wanted to see if I could improve how they looked which I believe I did. I couldn't do anything in the half term so I had to start drawing my logo to put on my products the first week back. I was also following my schedule that I created in my pre-production but I felt that I had too much to create which I ended up not following it correctly. I also had a small idea of how the logo would look however I didn't know if it would work and I had to scrap some of the fonts that I wanted to use. However it was easy to work in Photoshop as I had some skills that I could use to improve my different products. I could create the designs quickly due to the compatibility of a drawing tablet to the computer. I could of planned my designs on paper so I wouldn't forget the designs that I wanted to do. This would have made the process easier as I could create and follow a better schedule for my pre-production and I could've done all my designs quicker as well.
  • 7. Technical Qualities Similarities: The t-shirts are both crew neck t- shirts. They both have the pocket design with the logo. They are both shown off the similarly as they are both laid down. I have followed a common convention with the pocket design. Differences: My design is a lot more simple compared to Superdry's. The Superdry t-shirt has more than 4 colours and my product has 3 colours. My design is a lot more simple compared to Superdry's. My logo on the t-shirt is bigger than the Superdry product. I used Photoshop to create the design of this t-shirt. I also used a drawing tablet to create my own drawing of the design. However I do not know what program they made their design on and what they used to create them.
  • 8. Aesthetic Qualities I like how my products turned out as they are all quite simple however they all have a very qualitative look to them which I went for. I enjoy every design that I created because they have a really good aesthetic and I enjoyed creating these designs. If I had more time I would of created more designs because the hoodies are just a recolour and the card suits t- shirt is also a recolour. I like how the letters in the logo are in the card suits. If I had more time I would of altered the logo because I didn’t get much time to experiment with it. The webpage has a good aesthetic while being quite simple because I wanted it to be very similar to my product designs with the consistent red, black and red colour scheme. I like the repetitive card suits t-shirt as it fits the brands aesthetic very well. My audience would enjoy the style that I created because they will like the colour scheme due to the contrast between the colours. Also they will like the different colours for my card suit t-shirts.
  • 9. Audience Appeal The audience I wanted for my clothing brand was 12+ for primary audience and 7+ for secondary because my products will be mainly for 12+ and 7+ is for anyone who enjoys my products and would want to wear my products. I chose this age range of 12+ (primary audience) because my products are quite basic as teenagers don't necessarily wear flashy clothes and prefer the basic looking clothes. I chose 7+ (secondary audience) as they may also like these designs that I have created. The gender for my products is mixed because I made my products unisex. This could apply towards the products I have created so people could find the correct size that they need. My psychographic will be belongers because my brand was created in the UK and people may want to be loyal to my brand. This can be applied to the brand in general as they may enjoy all my products. The social status is middle class for primary audience and lower class for secondary audience because my products aren't to expensive for lower class but enough for the middle class to buy. This can be applied to the website so they can buy my products.
  • 11. Feedback 1 • What did you like about the product? • I like the simple designs of the products as it gives them a very stylish look. I also like the logo of the brand as it is creative. • What improvements could have been made to the product? • I feel like he could of made more products with more products like trousers and other accessories as well as making more designs or the t-shirts and hoodies.
  • 12. Feedback 2 • What did you like about the product? • I like the variety of colours for the card suit t-shirts and I would buy one if I could. The logo is also quite stylish and should be shown more on the clothes designs. • What improvements could have been made to the product? • There should be more designs and you should of made adverts for your brand to appear on other websites.
  • 13. Feedback 3 • What did you like about the product? • I like how you used diamonds, spades, hearts and clubs for the logo. • What improvements could have been made to the product? • I think you could’ve made some designs with just the name of your brand and not incorporating the card suits. Therefore you would get more original designs and not just a recolour of one of the designs.
  • 14. Peer Feedback Summary • What do you agree with from your peer feedback? • In in feedback 1, they said I should create more products like trousers and accessories. In feedback 2, they said I should’ve created advertisements for the brand. I agree with these as I was going create a trouser and phone case design however I ran out of time. I also think that adverts would of looked good as I could of found a website, screenshotted it and done my advert over another advert. But in all of them they said I should create more designs which I can agree with because there isn’t many original designs and just recolours. • What do you disagree with from your peer feedback? • In feedback 3, they said I should’ve created designs that don’t include the card suits. I disagree as it would take the whole aesthetic away from my brand. It wouldn’t be the same as my brand is focused on the card suits and it would look like a different brand if I didn’t incorporate them into my designs.
  • 15. Peer Feedback Summary • I would of liked to design something like joggers/tracksuit bottoms and phone cases because I could’ve put my logo or a brand new design on the products. I would’ve created some more t-shirt and hoodies because I could've made some designs that are better than the ones that I have now. However I also like the simple designs but I think the products could’ve had more on them. I could’ve also created advertisements for my brand as I could either do them on websites or created a video advert and wear a blank hoodie or t-shirt then put my designs on them. I would also improve some of my current designs because there is some small parts of my products that I would like to change. I could of also done some better plans like drawing out my different designs so I didn't forget them and it would of improved my time management as well. This would've improved my schedule as I could choose which days I would make certain designs and it would've made it a lot quicker.
