Proteins exhibit dynamic behavior with low-frequency terahertz vibrational modes. As these macromolecules have charges and dipoles, this suggests possibility of specific interaction with electromagnetic radiation in the terahertz band. My research aims to probe and understand this protein electrodynamic behavior using both terahertz CW and TDS spectroscopic experiments This protein spectroscopic behavior promises new methods of medical diagnosis and therapy.
In addition to this research I teach the SAIHST-SAIT Mini-MD and support translational medicine initiatives between Samsung, SAIT and SAIHST/SMC (Samsung Medical Center).
