This document summarizes a pocket guide for resource efficient practices in the concrete industry in Ukraine. It provides statistics on concrete production in Ukraine, which has grown from 14.5 million tons in 2011 to 25.7 million tons in 2015. Approximately 4000 concrete companies operate in Ukraine. The guide discusses why energy efficiency, effective materials use, and water saving are important for the concrete industry. It also outlines advantages of the pocket guide in promoting these resource efficient practices and ways to disseminate the guide, such as through industry events and business associations.

Water is used at all stages of
production and is needed for the
functioning of the whole business;
water is an indispensable resource.

Rational water consumption, recycling,
maintenance of water supply systems in good
condition and water management allows the
enterprise to:
• Reduce water losses
• Reduce wastewater discharges
• Reduce the amount of fees for water use and
wastewater

In such a pocket guide in a manner

language, in terms of its concerns,
challenges and opportunities of
RECP methods implementation are
