Welcome to our June issue of the OVID Highlights
The OVID team was in New Orleans in May conducting OVID
new inspector and refresher training. Oliver and I thoroughly enjoyed
meeting our new inspectors as well as our current OVID inspectors.
Several member companies were represented including Exxon/IMT,
Chevron, BG, and BP.
Future OVID Courses
We are currently working on our 2nd half of the year OVID course
schedule. I am pleased to let you know that we will be hosting an ,
OVID refresher course in Abu Dhabi U.A.E.; as well as a new inspec-
tor course in Doha, Qatar. We are also looking at dates for Kuala
Lumpur, Malaysia and Jakarta Indonesia. The dates for these new
courses will be posted in the July newsletter and on our Facebook/
Linkedin page.

OVID Updates
We have just released an update to OVID which includes the following updates for members and
vessel operators.
An OVPQ completion screen has been added for the vessel operators. This screen will allow the ves-
sel operators to review the completion percentage of the OVPQ for each of their vessels.
Secondary email addresses can now be added for both OCIMF members and Vessel operators.
Seatrade Workboat Show Abu Dhabi 2013
The OVID team will be in Abu Dhabi from September 29th-October 2nd for the Seatrade Workboat
show. We will have an OVID booth with information on OVID as well as hosting a one day OVID
workshop and a two day OVID refresher course for current OVID inspectors in the region. I will send
out more information and open registration in the July newsletter.
OVID Statistics
I recently received an email questioning the number of vessels registered in our database. The number
above of 5772 vessels, reflects all of our current 23 variants, and are individually identified by name
and IMO or flag registration number. The goal for 2013 is to register 6500 vessels in the database.

To be eligible to attend an OVID refresher course you must meet the following criteria:
 You must be within 12 months of your OVID expiry date
 You must have completed at least one (1) OVID inspection prior to taking the refresher course
 If you do not meet either the first or second requirement, please do not contact us for a reserva-
tion for the refresher course.
 Refresher courses are free of charge/length 2 days/Exam must be completed and passed at end of
course to maintain your accreditation.
