2. The Crime & Scene
There were 230 victims.
He asked them out on a date and
when he got them home he
seduced them and killed them.
The killings happened between
1985-2007.
The crimes took place in Los Angeles.
3. Background!!!
The motive of the serial killer was that
he was a psycho and he just wanted
some attention.
The background of the victims was
that there are all African American
women in their early 20’s late 30’s.
They do not have a connection with
Lonnie Franklin.
The victims did not experience any
violence when they were younger, but
Lonnie Franklin had experienced
violence from his mom and dad.
4. Forensic Evidence
At the last killing of the
grim sleeper the DNA
they found at the crime
scene was his DNA and
a fingerprint
Fingerprint analysis
They found that it was his
bite mark and that led to
him being arrested
5. Legal Aspects of..
The case was resolved by
finding his DNA on his last
victim Inez Warren.
The charges brought
against him is that he was
10 murder charges and
one count of attempted
murder
The perpetrator is now
and will forever be in jail
6. Theories on….
The alternate ideas on
this case was that he
was being charged
with 8 more killings of
innocent people.
7. Reflection on….
This case would be different with
today’s scientific techniques
because it wouldn’t have taken
this long to find some DNA and to
convict him.
I picked this case because I
thought it was interesting because
I thought it was amazing how he
committed all these crimes and
never got caught until 2007.
With today's technology it is
possible to catch and be able to
go to court right away and get a
sentence.
