Estes Gate ‐ Estes gate will re‐open on June 11, 2012. Hours of operation will be 5:00am – 7:00pm on weekdays, closed weekends and federal holidays.

NOT be access to an ATM on site.
Country Stampede – Tickets for Country Stampede are available at Leisure Travel. You can also upgrade your Free Sunday “Military Appreciation Day”
ticket to a 4‐ Day General Admission Ticket for $85 at Leisure Travel. If you need Sunday tickets, you may pick them up at Leisure Travel or from your units
FRSA. Country Stampede is a 4 day concert held at Tuttle Creek State Park, in Manhattan, KS . Top acts from today’s country to yesterday’s country.
Army Birthday ‐ Devil's Den is hosting a Special Lunch for the Army's Birthday on June 13th. Please see the flyer located in the flyer section of news update.
Main Post Pool – The Main Post pool is open and is Free. The hours are 1300‐1800 Thursday‐ Sunday .
Thurgood Marshall College Fund Walmart First Generation Scholarship ‐ The scholarship award is $6,200 for the 2012‐2013 academic school year.
Deadline is June 15, 2012. Students must met the following minimum criteria to apply:
•Be enrolled at as a full‐time freshman in one of TMCF's 47 member‐schools for the 2012‐2013 academic school year
• Have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher
• Be a first‐generation college student
• Have demonstrated leadership ability through a variety of measures
• Be a United States citizen

Running Technique Clinic – Do you want to learn to run more efficiently and with less strain on your back and knees? Do you need to run faster for your
next APFT or race? Are your lungs on fire when you run uphill? Do your joints hurt when you run downhill? This 90 minute clinic will teach you how to
position your body and foot strike to maximize your momentum and reduce your injuries. The clinics will be scheduled a few times a month at King Field

House and Long Gym. There are only 4‐5 minutes of running during the clinic for gait analysis so the clinic is fine for brand new runners. Clinics can also be
scheduled for groups (unit PT, FRGs, etc) by contacting Angi. The clinic costs $15 per person and includes instructional handouts. Please come dressed in
running clothes to start the clinic indoors and then move outside for the gait analysis and uphill and downhill running section. If possible, please sign‐up
and pay in advance with Vincent Spencer (Fitness Coordinator) upstairs in the Functional Fitness Area at King Field House. For June and July dates or have

Kaw Valley Rodeo ‐ Believe it or not Kaw Valley Rodeo is just around the corner, July 26‐28. Again this year the Manhattan MRC will have Free tickets
available for the Thursday, Military Appreciation Night. Please see your units FRSA for tickets, if your unit does not have an FRSA, please contact Stacie
Dumas (stacie.dumas@us.army.mil or via phone at 240‐1251) to arrange for your tickets. Free Tickets will not be given out until after July 16th. This is
always a great event. If you are interested in purchasing tickets for the other two nights, please contact Leisure Travel at (785)239‐5614.
Junction City Chamber of Commerce ‐ The Chamber Crossroads of Leadership program will hold a book drive for children’s books. A collection box will be
set up in the Chamber office for any books our members or the public would like to donate. Please stop by 701 N Jefferson with your donations to help
this cause.

USD 475 ‐ Grief Counseling services are available to any student, staff member of USD 475 and to the Junction City community at Lincoln Elementary, the
