Practical Health Tips For All Over Well-Being
Our article is designed to give simple Health tips to our readers to improve their quality of living and
for longevity. We will try to cover all the significant components that are considered integrated part of
nutrition and lifestyle that lead to Good health.
What Is Good Health?
Health is a state of Physical, Mental, Emotional, and social balance. All these four aspects of health
are very closely linked and change in one directly affects the other. Therefore, we will include
suggestions on improving physical and Mental health, managing emotion, and achieving social well-
being.
Simple And Easy Health Tips To Improve Lifestyle
1. Eating a healthy and balanced diet - Humans need food to grow and develop a healthy
body. Include foods from each food group. Include whole-grain, legumes, nuts, vegetables,
meat, dairy and fruits in your everyday diet. Eat variety of coloured fruits and vegetables
rich in minerals, vitamins, and antioxidants. Eat three meals a day. Dinner should not be
your largest meal. Eat the minor portion that can satisfy your hunger pangs. Between the
meals, you can have healthy snacks in a moderate amount, such as fruit or nuts.
2. Consume less sugar and salt - If you consume sodium more than recommended amount,
you put yourself at the risk of high blood pressure, which in turn increases the chances of
cardiac diseases. Mostly you get sodium from salt. Reduce the intake of salt to a teaspoon
a day. In addition, limit the intake of soy sauce and other high sodium condiments. Avoid
salty snacks.
On the other hand, excessive intake of sugar intake increases the risk of unhealthy weight
gain and tooth decay. Reduce the free sugar intake to 30 grams in a day in adults. Reduce
the intake of sugar by limiting the consumption of sweetened beverages, candies, and other
sugary snacks.
3. Reduce the consumption of harmful fats - Total consumption of fats should be less than
30% of total energy. Unsaturated fats are preferred over trans-fats and saturated fats. Food
sources of unsaturated fats include nut, avocado, fish, soybean, sunflower olive oil, and
canola. Instead, saturated fats are found in fatty meat, coconut oil, cheese, palm butter, and
lard. In addition, limit the intake of fried, baked, and prepacked foods such as biscuits,
cookies, frozen pizza, and spreads.
4. Quit smoking: Smoking leads to lung diseases, stroke, and heart disease. Quit smoking
and also fight for your right to breathe smoke-free air.
5. Limit alcohol intake: Excessive alcohol consumption may lead to behavioural and mental
disorders, fatty liver, cirrhosis of the liver, and increases the risk of heart diseases and
certain cancers. In addition, drink and drive is one of the leading causes of road accidents
and violence.
6. Exercise and physical activity - Exercise daily to improve health and reduce the risk of
developing chronic diseases. Exercise and physical activity have long-term and immediate
health benefits. It promotes the secretion of good hormones and enhances mood. If you
don't want to go to the gym, do light exercises such as running, swimming, brisk walk, or
cycling. Exercise for 45 minutes 5 days a week. It improves muscular fitness, metabolism,
and cardiorespiratory functions. In addition, physical activity improves sleep quality,
increases bone density, gracefully maintains your looks, and improves all over life quality.
7. Get your blood pressure checked regularly - High blood pressure or hypertension is
termed Silent Killer. Many people suffer from hypertension but are not aware of it because
they do not have any apparent symptoms. Uncontrolled hypertension increases the risk of
cardiac, kidney, brain, and heart diseases. Regular blood pressure check-ups help you to
maintain blood pressure under check. If your blood pressure is high, medicines are given
in time to control blood pressure.
8. Practice yoga and meditation: Regular practice of yoga and meditation creates mental
clarity and calmness. It increases body awareness, relieves chronic stress, improves
attention, and sharpens concentration. In addition, meditation provides you with a sense of
peace and balance set benefits not only your emotional well-being but has a positive effect
all over health. On the other hand, include certain poses that improve body posture
flexibility and metabolism. In addition, it strengthens muscles, promotes blood flow, and
improves respiratory functions.
9. Practice safe sex: To prevent sexually transmitted diseases like HIV, gonorrhea, and
syphilis, it is essential to practice safe sex. Also, avoid having intercourse with multiple
sexual partners.
10. Regular health checks- Routine health checkups help to determine your health condition
to reduce future health risks. Necessary tests are done to keep track of your health condition.
Regular health checkup benefits include early detection of potentially life-threatening
diseases, thus increasing the chances of treatment and recovery. In addition, close
monitoring of existing conditions limits the risk of complications.
11. Get vaccinated: To keep diseases at bay, vaccination is effective. The vaccine strengthens
the natural body defense to protect against diseases such as covid-19, Hepatitis B,
influenza, measles, mumps, pneumonia, yellow fever, typhoid, tetanus, rubella, rabies,
cholera, cervical cancer, etc.
12. Prevent mosquito bites - Diseases such as dengue, malaria, chikungunya, Zika virus, etc.,
spread through mosquito bites. Take necessary precautions, such as wearing full sleeve
shirts and full pants tucked in socks to prevent mosquito bites. Keep your surroundings
clean. Eliminate standing water in buckets, plastic toys, old tyres, and coolers where
mosquitoes can breed. Use air conditioners or sleep in the mosquito net.
13. Clean your hand correctly - It is essential to clean your hands with soap water before and
after eating, after using the toilet, and after coming home from work or market. If soap
water is not available, use an alcohol-based hand rub.
14. Drink clean water - To prevent water-borne diseases, avoid drinking unsafe water
contaminated with faeces. Instead, use a water purifier or boiling water for at least 1 minute
before drinking.
15. Do not take antibiotics without prescription - Taking antibiotic without prescription lead
to antibiotic resistance. Antibiotic resistance is biggest public health concerns. If
antibiotics will lose their power, it will become hard to treat bacterial infections. Take
antibiotics only if prescribed by a qualified healthcare professional and complete the
treatment course as instructed.
