ABUSE
There are many types of abuse and in the world and many ways to prevent it.
Violent between and interment partner not only affects the physical well-being of victims
and their work forces and economy as victims may be unable to maintain steady
employment. Abuse is wrong on all levels; there is no reason why people should be
abused because it doesn’t really prove anything to anyone. There are numerous theories
existing to explain why some men and woman become battered as well as why victims so
often are reluctant to leave their abusers. This is good it gives them a chance to start over
and try and forget about their past. Men are the primary aggressors and that physical
abuse is separate and more harmful than emotional abuse but many studies show that
women and men exhibit comparable levels of aggression in a domestic setting, but most
women get hurt or battered in the process.(Dzidzic) Abuse happens all over the world. A
2001 domestic abuse law that criminalized spousal abuse in Japan many women are
afraid to reveal that they are the victims of abuse. A significant and growing number of
young Indians women are burned alive, beaten to death, or pushed to commit suicide by
their husband’s families in a customs known as dowry. Bangladesh has prohibited the
practice of dowry since 1980. The custom is still widely practiced. In Ireland and
throughout the world evidence that women overwhelmingly outnumber men as victims of
spousal abuse. Austrian men suffer violence from their spouse but rarely report it because
most of the time it is emotional abuse. More than half of all victims report physical,
sexual or emotional violence at the hands of their partner. (Henningfeld)

25 to 31 percent of women report being physical or sexually abused by a husband
or boyfriend at some point in their lives.(Prevent Domestic Violence) Domestic abuse
must stop; few people would argue with that. However, any program designed to stop
abuse faces a formidable challenge. Domestic abuse is often hidden, and unlike other
crimes it is often denied by both the abuser and victim. What we need to do is implement
more prevention strategies than reactive measures. Perhaps one of the most important
aspects of the domestic abuse problem that must be addressed before any real progress
can be made in the lingering sense that abuse is permissible. There are some people who
refuse to acknowledge violence in the relationship believing that it is a man’s right to
exert power and control over ones partner.(Domestic Violonce:outlook)
Domestic violence can be defined as abusive behavior by a family member; all
members of the family or household are affected by violence with the
group.(Henningfold) Abusive teenage dating relationship are linked to risky behavior late
in life such as sexual, eating disorder, drug use and suicide attempts.(Dziedzic) 16 to 24
year old women are consistently reported as the group as most at risk to be abused. A
study of 8th
and 9th
grade male and female students found out that 25% had been victims
of nonsexual dating violence and 8% had been victims of sexual violence(Prevent
Domestic Violence). Children who are subjected to domestic abuse are at great risk of
substance abuse, juvenile behavior, pregnancy, and criminal behavior than those raised in
a home without violence. Children from violent homes show more aggressive behavior.
3million to 10 million children witness abuse each year. About 5 parents are killed each
week by their children in the us alone. Prevention and early intervention efforts are
effective in reducing domestic abuse and child abuse. Annually more than 300,000

women are raped and over 4 million are assaulted.
Young women in Iraq and Kurdistan are subjected to murder by their families for
speaking, telephoning, or falling in love with a man not selected by their family. Honor
killing is not outlawed in Iraq. Psychologists, sociologists, and other professionals feel
that educating the public about the management of this social problem may one of the
highest priorities in fighting this issue. Training workshops from those that deal with
abuse includes police officers, social workers, layers, and counselors are crucial. Therapy
aimed at survivors of violent relationships are designed to break the cycle of abuse by
training individuals to resolve conflict in non-violent ways. There are many ways to get
help there is consoling you can do it alone or with your family, self-help groups with
other victims.
More than 70% of us homes with young children have pets. In a study from the
1980’s 7 to 10 year old children named an average of two pets when listing the ten most
important individual people in their lives. When asked “who do they turn to when they
are happy, sad, mad, or wanting to share secrets”, nearly all the 5 year old children from a
different study said their pet. Millions of animals are used in laboratories around the
world. Scientists may use animals to test toxic chemicals or to develop new surgery
techniques. They may cause cancer and infections in animals to study there cells. Despite
the death and pain that these acts can bring. There are ways to limit animal suffering in
all laboratories. The law specifies how animals should be housed in a laboratory and
created a team of inspectors in the U.S. department of agriculture to visit laboratories. It
is also required that adequate veterinary care be provided for laboratory animals. In the
U.S the first national law was the laboratory animal welfare act of 1966.
6. Parram 4
In 1966 congress sought to regulate some peripheral aspects of laboratory welfare
without actually interfering with how scientist’s experiments were performed. The law
dictated how animals, especially dogs and cats may be obtained for research and how a
dog vender or a laboratory must document that they were not trafficking stolen animals.
In addition to a growing sensitivity to the rights of animals. Another significant reason
for the increase attention to animal abuse is a mountainous body of evidence about the
links between such acts and serious crime of more narrowly human concern including
illegal fire arms position, drug trafficking, gambling, child and spousal abuse. The link
between animal abuse intentional violence is being so well established in the community
now cross-train social-service and animal control agencies in how to recognize signs of
animal abuse as possible indicators of other abusive behavior. A growing number of
police officers, prosecutors, physiologists, social workers, animal control officers,
vitiations, and dog catchers are now addressing with a new found vigorous cruelty
towards animals. In 2008 the American society for the prevention of cruelty to animals
from the nation’s first mobile Crime scene investigation unit, a rolling veterinary hospital
and forensic lab that travels around the country helping traditional law enforcement
agencies following evidence trails of wounded or dead animals back to their abusers.
Before 1990 only six states had felony prevention in their animal cruelty laws; now 46 do
which is a major upcoming now we need to get all 50 states.

CHECKLIST
I. The outline
The introduction states the main topic or idea of the outline, and the
conclusion summarizes it.
Each sub-topic describes the main idea for a paragraph.
Supporting information and details for a sub-topic are listed under the sub-
topic, with each piece of information listed separately.
When supporting information is listed under a sub-topic, there are at least
two pieces of information listed. If there is only one piece of information to
support a sub-topic, the information is included in the sub-topic.
II. The paper
The paper follows the organization of the outline.
Each paragraph in the paper matches a sub-topic in the outline, and presents
the information and details listed under the sub-topic.
Each paragraph includes a topic sentence that summarizes the main idea of

Identify the tasks you need to do.
Arrange the tasks in the order you’ll need to do them.
Estimate how long each task will take. Be sure to allow enough time for

Identify the date the report is due, and then set a schedule showing what
work you’ll need to do each day in order to have your report ready on time.
II. Add interest
Use graphs and charts to illustrate an idea.
Add a picture, photo, or drawing.
Include a map.
Find a quotation and use it to make your point.
III. Make every word count
Choose words your reader will understand. Remember that you want to
communicate your ideas to the person reading your paper.
Avoid clichés.
Use a thesaurus to replace overused words and find new ways to express
