Experience Portfolio - Macerich

Designed
Researched over 500 digitally native brands (DNVB) to assess opportunity and
build business case. Interviewed 40+ CEO’s and founders to identify pain points
and service objectives. Designed program to facilitate DNVBs opening and testing
a physical store at one of Macerich’s premiere shopping centers.
Built
Developed modular retail store system that allowed brands to customize a physical
store efficiently and economically. Built online tools to help brands monitor success.
Launched
Pilot launched BrandBox at shopping center, Macerich’s Tysons Corner Center in
Washington DC with six brands: Winky Lux, Interior Define, Nectar, Urban Stems,
Naadam and DKNY. Scottsdale and Santa Monica are on schedule to launch in
2020

Business Case
Westfield SF had over 37,000 sqft of challenged space on the 4th floor that had a
lot of turnover due to low traffic and unsustainable tenants. We took a creative
approach by curating, designing and operating the space ourselves, resulting in
taking annualized rent from $0 to net $47 per sqft.
Tailor-made Experience
Bespoke was created to serve retail and tech companies in San Francisco. The
coworking, event and tech demo space have become the superior location and
community for retail at all stages.
After 365 days
75 retail tech startups and brands, hosted 50+ international tours and demos, 100+
events from the likes of Polyvore, Salesforce, Oracle, Nordstrom and Facebook,
and over 150 articles written.
