Thinking About Communication
• Groups of 4
• Answer me this….
– What is communication? What is effective communication
– What is meaning and how does it occur?
– Why is communication important?
– Is communication more important to managers than other
people?
– What is different about managerial communication than other
types of communication?
– Why is communication sometimes difficult? What can go wrong?
(For each problem you identify, try to identify a solution).

Solutions
• Well….
Forget learning lines or polishing jokes - having sex may be the
best way to prepare for giving a speech. New Scientist magazine
reports that Stuart Brody, a psychologist at the University of
Paisley, found having sex can help keep stress at bay.
