and submit your article upon publication into your institutional
repository. Embargo periods may apply.
Publish with a CC-BY license in a) an open access journal or b)
subscription journal that offers a gold route (hybrid journal)

leading status (Green open access) has been given inadequate
consideration…
§41. We recommend that RCUK also requires data on subscription
expenditure from UK HEIs to establish the impact of its policy on
subscription purchasing and pricing.
§49. We note the absence of evidence that short embargo periods harm
subscription publishers. We have seen evidence that current UK open
access policy risks incentivising publishers to introduce or increase
embargo periods.
§57. We conclude that the Finch Report, the Government and RCUK have
failed to assess adequately the existing levels of APCs that are charged by
a range of open access journals

Consultation from the UK HEIs:
•Type of licenses, gratis open access or libre open
access
