The purposes of this research were: (1) to study the teacher participation in the
administration of basic education institutions in Muang District, Nakhon Phanom Province and
(2) to compare the teacher participation in the administration of basic education institutions
3.5 ซ.ม. classified by school sizes and types of schools. The sample consisted of 273 teachers selected by 2.5 ซ.ม.
stratified random sampling and the sample size was determined by using the table of Krejcie and
Morgan. The instrument for collecting data was a five–rating scale questionnaire with the
discrimination power between .42 and .98 and the reliability coefficient of .82. Statistics used to
analyze data were percentages, means, standard deviations and F–test (One–way ANOVA).

The results were as follows 1)The teacher participation in the administration of basic
education institutions of Muang District, Nakhon Phanom Province as a whole was at the high level.
2) In the comparison of the teacher participation in the administration of basic education institutions
in Muang District, Nakhon Phanom Province, classified by school sizes, it was found that teachers
of small-sized schools participated in the administration of the basic education institutions more
than the teachers of medium-sized and large-sized schools did. 3) In the comparison of the teacher
participation in the administration of basic education institutions in Muang District, Nakhon
Phanom Province, classified by school types, it was found that the teachers of elementary schools
participated in the administration of basic education institutions more than the teachers of extended
schools and secondary schools did.
