The ‘Thing’ and the ‘Internet’ – the two essential elements of IoT are not new terms. At the same time,
IoT is not just about connecting things anymore. The Internet of Things must cover analysis of data
produced by things. This data analysis leads to new insights and helps build patterns, predict
situations, prescribe solutions, and instruct things to take decisions and optimize themselves.
At Nagarro we classify the complex IoT ecosystem in four parts – Devices, Connectivity, Platform and
Business Model. We understand that the IoT ecosystem is quite fragmented and requires customers
to deal with multiple vendors. To help customers unlock business value, Nagarro offers a
comprehensive set of services and provides a one-stop shop for all their technology needs.

2. Success Stories
Validation
Connected lighting controls for a leading
lighting manufacturer
Smart city through surveillance and
monitoring of elevators and escalators
Wireless access system for the world’s leading
lock manufacturer
Nagarro developed a responsive smart lighting
control and monitoring tool for managers at large
facilities like stadiums, airports, offices, and malls.
The tool gathered data from various lighting
devices such as occupancy sensors, photo
sensors, smart dimmers, ballasts etc. The solution
resulted in increased energy savings through
generation of comparison and summary reports for
different lighting control strategies along with easy
monitoring and diagnostics.
Smarter factory through machine data collection
& analysis for a MES solutions provider
Nagarro enhanced a shop floor management tool to
provide right information to the right people at the
right time via the Cloud. Information such as multi-site
OEE targets and benchmarking to global operations,
failure hit lists with downtime alerts to maintenance
team, plant performance levels to plant manager,
planned vs actual performance to machine operator,
and more. Besides seamless SAP ERP integration, the
software embraces big data into smart data in real
time from diverse machine types using the global MT
Connect standard.
For companies providing public services in
Munich, Nagarro developed a surveillance and
operation system to monitor around a 1000
escalators and elevators. This system also helps
technicians handle maintenance issues and
supports mobile business processes. It has
interfaces to the customer information systems
and to ERP systems.
Nagarro developed a product that allowed
mechanical locks to be wirelessly linked to a new or
existing access control system. The solution enabled
users to remotely access and control door locks. It
eliminated key management issues and allowed
authorization changes in real time. Use of encrypted
communication made the solution extremely secure.
No changes were required to existing access control
installations resulting in affordable upgrades for users
who wanted to minimize costs.
