downtime minimisation. Energetic and self- motivated team leader experienced in successful management of diverse groups of
people. Armed with powerful communication and analytical skills, I am fully committed to providing and implementing
dynamic solutions to fulfil organisation’s objectives.
ORGANISATIONAL EXPERIENCE
A competent professional with 18 years of rich & extensive experience in Vessel Operations, Administration on Board,
Maintenance Operations, Machine Installation, Safety & Compliance
Presently sailing as Chief Engineer with Teekay Shipping on LNGC vessel. I have a rich experience of sailing on different
types of ships in my career; ULCC, VLCC, P.TKR, AFRAMAX, CH.TKR and LNGC (with two independent engines and
twin screws)., Steam tanker, Motor tanker and DFDE in different positions.
I started with Tanker Pacific as a cadet in 1998 and later joined OMI as a Second Asst in 2005. OMI was taken over by Teekay
in 2008 and I have been with Teekay ever since. I cross trained for LNGC in 2010 and got promoted to the Chief Engineer
position in 2013 on LNGC.
Successfully worked on B&W MAN (SMC, LMC and ME) engines, Sulzer RTA & Duel fuel engines. Handled diesel
generating sets, refrigeration & air conditioning plants, and oil fired boilers, centrifuges, different types of pumps, inert gas
generators & sewage treatment plants, incinerators, oily water separators, Framo systems operation and maintenance.
In each position I amassed a great deal of knowledge and excelled in my role.
ACHIEVEMENTS
Won Teekay’s Operational Leadership Award (Q1 2015) for conceptualising, creating and developing a training jig to
address the root cause for non-compliance of Log Out Tag Out Procedures. With this I mentored all officers to have a fool
proof Work Permit Issued, thus enhancing the safety on board.
I redesigned an efficient under budget the Turbocharger dry cleaning equipment to resolve the recurring failure of the
equipment and the turbochargers. The concept was then incorporated by the manufacturer and implemented fleet wide.
Identified the competency gap to operate Marinfloc OWS. Volunteered & created an on-site training video & trained the Jr.
engineers, thus effectively reducing the operating time and enhancing the conceptual understanding of the equipment
operating procedure to reduce time for fault finding.
