Syntel is a NASDAQ Listed Company which follows USGAAP Financial Reporting. It has operations and subsidiaries
across the world. Monthly book closing for its key subsidiaries is being handled in a team using oracle based
PeopleSoft ERP tool.
Monthly consolidation of accounts for all subsidiaries including corporate reporting at parent level.
All other routine activities related to financial reporting as typically handled by GL Team of any organization.
Analysis of cost for month over month, quarter over quarter and year over year basis and its MIS reporting to the
management.
Analysis of project margins and co-coordinating with the project managers for resolving their queries on margins.
Coordinating for quarterly as well as yearly statutory and SOX audits of the company and interacting with external as
well as internal auditors.
Assisted India Finance team to resolve their queries by providing recommendation on certain India GAAP related
matters.
Assisting in preparation of compliance documents for the company such as Audit Committee Note, Management
Report.
Assisting in SEC Filling of company’s quarterly and annual returns - 10Q and 10K.
Preparation of board presentation related to the quarterly financials.
Highlights:
Worked on SEC comment letter around FOREX and Derivative matter and resolved the matter successfully in favor of
the company.
Analysis and research done around various accounting codifications of USGAAP for taking accounting stand at
company level. Analysis involves codification around accounting treatment for research and development expenses,
internal use of software, Translation Gain/Loss, Derivatives, loan origination cost, cost of obtaining a contract, etc.
Innovated process of consolidation of income statement to automate as far as possible which resulted in time saving
for consolidation done on monthly basis.
Received award in Jan’2012 for putting extra innovative efforts for financial closure of fourth quarter of 2011.
