Hardy Family Chronicles III - Jesse's Confession and Richard's Revelation
1. The Hardy Family Chronicles III A Tale of Several Sims Trials and Tribulations – Part 2
2. It’s time for Jesse to confess. Did she remember years ago when she was being beaten up by her then boyfriend Ben Hargrove? She did. Did she remember that Ben continued to follow her around after she’d broken up with him and evicted him from her home, threatening her and beating him up in the graveyard? She did.
3. And did she remember him telling her, promising her, in the car on the journey home that day that Ben Hargrove would never trouble her again? Hannah began to look worried. She did. She had dismissed it at the time as just something a protective friend would say....
4. Jesse explains that he did do something about Ben Hargrove. He went to a man called ‘The Boss’, a.k.a Armundo Manzano, and told him about the problem. The Boss got rid of Hargrove, permanently. In return, Jesse agreed to do some jobs for him in the future as payment. He believed it to be a small price to pay. Hadn’t he and Hannah had a perfect, uninterrupted life all these years? Hadn’t their kids grown up safe from the irrational Ben Hargrove?
5. Hannah could scarcely believe it. Jesse had been her ‘safe’ option compared to Ben. She had loved him for being steady and supportive. Now he was as good as a murderer. She couldn’t quite take it all in, and left in tears.
6. Jesse asks for a meeting with ‘The Boss’ Manzano. They meet in his cell.
7. Jesse knew ‘The Boss’ was the only one who could help him get out, he was caught red handed after all.
8. He tells ‘the Boss’ he’s not above begging, he wants to get home to his wife and kids. That’s something Manzano can understand. He says he’ll see what he can do.
10. While Jesse had been gone, life was marching ahead for his teenage sons. Richard was still being distracted by Kirsten, and Andrew was well on his way to completing Laura’s plan.
11. He had managed to successfully woo Sadie, without his brother knowing.
12. Jesse arrives home to a tense atmosphere between him and Hannah. She’s still smarting from learning the truth.
13. Not one to keep her thoughts to herself, Hannah lashes out. She can’t understand how the steady, loving man she married could have effectively killed someone, and then dived headfirst into doing ‘odd jobs’ for the shady Manzano family.
14. Jesse begs for forgiveness. He had just wanted Hannah to be safe from Ben so they could start a life together. Ben’s subsequent death had shocked him. He’d thought the Boss would just warn him off. As for his recent criminal activities, what else could he have done?
15. He knows that Hannah is disappointed in him, and probably quite scared. And he’s sorry. Truly sorry.
16. Hannah forgives him. What else can she do? She still loves him, and he did it all for her. For better or for worse, she’s sticking to the vow they made to stay together.
17. Jesse wants to throw a party to celebrate getting out of jail. He invites his brother-in-law Jake and his wife Holly.
18. And Richard asks his cousin Bjorn, who can’t wait. It’s his first party since arriving in the country, and proves he’s settled in fully.
19. Andrew makes sure to invite Sadie, but Hannah isn’t so sure she should come. As a mother, she’s worried about Richard and Andrew falling out over her. She has no idea its all down to Laura.
20. It’s party time, and Andrew suggests Richard should stay outside with Kirsten.
21. So he can stay inside and dance with Sadie. Sadie, in her innocence of the situation, says they should go and tell Richard the truth. She has forgiven him for getting a bit fed up with her problems, he was her best friend for years after all.
22. Richard, although happy to let Kirsten monopolise his time... was not an enamoured with her as Andrew had hoped he would be. He was just as happy talking to her about fishing as he was kissing her.
23. When Richard saw Andrew and Sadie whispering together he suddenly realised how much he had missed her recently. Where had she been?
24. But when he saw them in a clinch, he realised they’d been sneaking around behind his back. He was hurt and angry with both of them
25. He waited until Sadie had left then had a go at Andrew, making sure he knew how betrayed he felt. Why had he done this, why take all that he had from him?
26. This wasn’t what Andrew had wanted, he thought his plan to drive a wedge between Richard and Sadie would bring Richard and he closer than ever. But all he had done was drive them further apart. He explained to Richard how he was just jealous of him and Sadie, because although he had loads of friends, he didn’t have a ‘best friend.’
27. Rachael was no fool. She knew Laura had something to do with the whole situation, and had probably planned it. So she asked what Laura had against their big brother. Why would she do that? Laura didn’t answer.
28. Laura disregarded Rachael in her own way. By talking to herself, or possibly the people in her head? That’s what it looks like as her hands flap around making talking motions. It seems that as well as evil Laura is a little... Unstable.
29. The morning after... Sadie goes to see Richard to talk everything through. She invites him round her house, she doesn’t want to see the duplicitous Andrew right now.
30. After a long chat, they make up. All the misunderstandings on both sides have been resolved. It's as they hug that Richard comes to a startling conclusion...
