Peace is an occurrence of harmony characterized by the lack of aggression, conflictbehaviors
and the freedomfrom the fear of violence. The universal meaningof peace is definedas a state that
providesinnersatisfaction whichpositivelyaffectsthe outside environment. Accordingto Wikipedia,
peace is commonly understoodas the absence of hostilityand retribution. It is the existence of
healthyor newlyhealed interpersonal orinternational relationships, prosperityinmatters ofsocial or
economicwelfare, the establishmentofequality and a working political order that servesthe true
interestsof all. However, peace isnecessary for everynation and everycountry to developsociallyas
well as politically. Absence of peace is a world-wide problem.Pakistan has also beenfacingthe same
problemfor a longtime. Our country Pakistan came into beingin 1947 by dint of great struggle of the
Muslimswho wanted a separate homelandwhere they couldlive independentlyandbecome one of
the most developednations.Inthis regard, theysacrificedtheir lives,wealth,fruitful- lands,etc.
It is a fact that after the creation of Pakistan, we have developedinmany fieldssuchas:
nuclear developments, educational developments, technological andagricultural developments.
Despite all,Pakistan has completelyfailedtomaintain peace in the country. The Pakistanishave been
thirsty for watching a peaceful environmentsince the time of establishment.Fortunatelyourdear
homelandwas establishedinthe name ofIslam but unfortunatelysoon after its creation we leftall
the Islamicand the Quranic laws back. We began governingthe country in accordance with our own
wish and will.As soon as we beganto go against the Islamicrules and some great leaderswhoalways
stood against the enemy, our sufferingsandmiseriesstarted. That’s why since that time we have not
beenable to restore the peace in Pakistan. Lacks ofinnocentpeople have beenkilledincoldblood.
Mobile phones,motor-bikesandcash are snatchedfrom the people on the gun point. Protestsand
shutter down strikeshave become normal dailyeventsin Pakistan. Moreoverour schools, colleges
and hospitals have beensufferingfromthe same issue for a long time. The innocentchildrenare being
killedinthe schools. Our doctors are gunneddown in the hospitals. It means none of our social
institutesissafe now a days. The political and religiousleadersare not secure too. Many great and
sincere leadershave beentargeted by a bulletbutnone of highlyauthorizedgovernment
personalitieshasevertaken any stepto overcome the situation inthe country. Terrorism has become
a hard nut to crack inour country. It has completelymade the life full of hurriesand worries. Many
people have kicked the bucket in the war of terrorism. The current circumstanceshave made the life
horrible.Man neverconsideredhimselfsoinsecure as he does today. Therefore it wouldnot be wrong
to say that terrorism has really made peace a dream for the Pakistanis. Although Pakistan is a
democratic country, people are deprivedof peace. Pakistan had not come to such critical, seriousand
dangeroussituation ifwe would not have acted against the Islamic laws and Shariah. We all know
2. very well that democracy is a good type of government. In spite of having democracy, the Pakistanis
are unable to watch peace inthe country. Their fundamental rights are neglected.Nodoubt, in
democracy people electthe leaderwhom they like most and considerhim/her the most favorable
personfor their homelandbut it is also true that after the elections, the electedleaders fulfill their
people’srequirementsandtheytry to prove themselves asgood as theycan. But in Pakistan it is
differentfromthat. There is a huge difference betweenthe democracyin Pakistan and the democracy
in other developedcountries. Here the electionsare heldon the fixedtime. The candidates canvass in
the streets, towns, villagesand in differentcitiesinorder to impressthe people.People castvotesin
favor of their favorite candidates.Whenthe elections come overand resultsare announced, the same
people stay in queue and rows to meetthe same personwho now has become an MNA/MPA. But
now the electedpersonhas no time to listento the needsand requirements of those people whose
voteshave brought him/her on the floorof parliament.
Where itis necessaryto discussthe presentsituationof Pakistan, there it is also very
important to have a glance at the causes behindit. The first major reason of disturbance of peace in
Pakistan is, the absence of justice. If a personmeetswith a case and by chance he/she has to go to the
court inorder to getthe justice,his/herhair would turn from black into white but the person cannot
get the justice. The case is ignoredin such a way that nothing has ever beendone. The rules and laws
for the rich are differentfromthose of the poor. Another problemwhichhas beena burning question
in Pakistan is sectarianism.Sectarianismcreates a grudge or enmityamong the people. Onaccount of
the religiousenmitya cold war breaks out. People belongingtodifferentsectsoppose one another.
Differentfamilieshave beenruinedand many childrenhave beenmade orphans in the war of
sectarianism. It isan unfortunate for the Muslims that they are killingone another in the name of
Islam. Bombs are blastedin the religiouspublicmeetingswhichresultbloodshed.People take out
processionsand call strikeswhich cause not only the backwardness of business, marketingand
economybut alsothey disturb the peace of the country.
“There is the way of peace: Overcome evil with good, falsehood with
truth and hatred with love.” Peace Pilgrim.
It is high time the authoritiesconcernedthought about to restore the peace in Pakistan. In
this regard the governmentofPakistan and otherauthorities are requestedtotake strict measuresto
eradicate terrorismand all the other maladiesfrom the country. Law and order situationshouldbe
improved. The laws must be same for all and free from the caste and colour system.I also ask the
Muslimsto followthe Islamiclaws, Shariah and not to create sects. We ought to followthe right path
and lead our livesaccording to the Holy Quran and the Sunnah. Islam isthe only religionofpeace and
a way to be developed.Unlesswe bringthe Islamic laws intopractice, we cannot progress.
