Dylan Jones Provide detailed descriptions from chosen examples that establish… Clearly state what production technique(s) you think have
been used to create specific soundtrack elements
Setting The setting in the audio sounds like a door opening to a lab as I can hear the turn of
the doorknob and also hear a crick of a door and the closing of the door. I can tell it
is a lab from something bubbling or brewing while the characters are talking. There
is also the sound of pages being flicked across meaning that one of the characters is
reading some documentation.
0:09-0:55 sounds like a live recording of bubbles.
0:23-0:39 live recordings of pages being turned.
Mood The mood in the game is still as the characters sound casual making that they are
not in a bad situation although one of the characters jump as they are might be on
edge or something. The music makes the scene feel chilling with the piano and violin
strumming.
0:00-1:09 An xylophone are being played at the
start of the cut scene.
Game genre The game sounds like they are looking for clues to a mystery they can’t solve making
it feel like a puzzle game. They mention supernatural so something out of this world
is happening which would make it a horror game.
0:02-0:09 they have used a live recording of a
door opening and closing.
Narrative Jill is walking into a lab as she finds her partner Barry reading some documentation
after she gives her partner a scare he informs her to read. Reading thought this she
find out there is a missing page and asks Barry about it. Barry suspects that the
missing page is a vital clue and wonders off to continue their investigation.
0:14-1:04 Talking audio is played by voice actors
for the game.
