3. What’s The Internet of things
IOT refers to a state where Things (e.g. objects) will have more information
associated with them and may have the ability to sense, communicate,
network and produce new information, becoming an integral part of the
Internet.
A widespread Internet of Things has the potential to transform how we live
in our cities, how we move, how we develop sustainably, how we age, and
more.
It is a global system of IP-connected computer networks, sensors, actuators,
machines, and devices. Merging this physical world with the virtual world of
the internet and software enables companies and consumers to create and
enjoy new services.
The internet of things has the characteristics of Ambient
intelligent(AM),Event driven(ED),Complex access technology(CAT),Flexible
structure(FS),Semantic sharing(SS)

The internet of things can be defined as:-
Sensors & Actuators + connectivity + people + Process
The interaction between these entities are creating new
types of smart application and build Smart world.
From anytime ,any place connectivity for anyone ,
we will now have connectivity for anything.

6. Big impact of IOT in next five years
According to me the hundreds of millions, then billions, of individuals
and business with billion , then trillions of smart communicating device
will stretch the boundary of current systems. Creating the potential to
change the way we work, learn, entertain and innovate.
In 2015 nearly 3.8 billions connected devices
will be shipped.
This number will grow to nearly 30 billion
devices for the 2022.
Home (Consumer)
3,745.80 devices million
Transport (Mobility)
480.95 devices million
Body (health)
392.72 devices million
Buildings (infrastructure)

7. Interest areas of IOT
I believe that the benefits and impact of IOT in almost every
areas of our lives , so my interest areas are shown below:-
RETAIL &
LOGISTIC

AND
POWER
CONTROL

&MANUFA
CTURE
TRAFFIC
ISSUES
DAILY LIFE
To the use of IOT we can easily
Control & solve the all types of
traffic issues.
It explore to the increasing
use of hand held tools in
manufacturing.eg. Assembly of
automobiles,airoplanes,trains,
Ships etc.
Save money &
conserve
energy
By eliminating
stand by
power
It is the key area .where IOT have a
huge impact of enabling technology
There will be a robot taking care of
the house, performing routine works
like cleaning, security, maintenance
etc.
8. Challenges of IOT
Absence of governance
Privacy & Security
Managing & fostering rapid innovation is a big challenge for government.
Technological Standardization in most areas are still remain fragmented.
Without an impartial governing authority it will be impossible to
have a truly global “Internet of Things”, accepted by states, companies, trade
organizations and the common people.
So having multiple authorities would create a kind of multi-homing,
which can lead to disastrous results.
Today, the greatest challenges to reach full interoperability are
probably security and privacy of the data that we are trying to exchange.
There are a lot of things we could build, deploy, or attach to the Internet .
So we need to solve these security concerns and when we do, we
will unleash the potential of the IOT.
9. Example of how I should innovate
With the help of below potential I will convince the users that the IOT
technology will protect their data & privacy when tracking

Potential Solution
In order to have a widespread adoption of any object identification system,
there is a need to have a technically sound solution to guarantee privacy and
the security of the customers. cases the security has been done as an add-on
feature, it is the feeling that the public acceptance for the IOT will happen only
when the strong security and privacy solution are in place.
If given an internship in this area, I intend to work on Build an IOT
network and security foundation , Collect as much data as possible, Control
and Automation.
