2. INTRODUCTION
What is Internet of Things?
 The Internet of Things(IoT) is the network of
physical objects that contain embedded
technology to communicate and sense or interact
with their internal states or the external
environment.
 IoT is opening up a new world of data
interchange between devices,sensors,and
applications,enabling businesses to monitor.
 In real time,the health or quality and
performance of the products long after they
leave the production premises.
 E.g: smart watches,smart houses,etc.

3. Applications of IoT
Why Internet of Things?
 The applications of IoT ranges from building and
home automation to wearables.
 IoT technology is applied mostly in producing
smart devices, i.e. smart watches,smart
automative,etc.
 It is expected that the IoT results in transforming
many cities into smart cities with smart houses.
 IoT promises increased efficiency within the
home,city and workplace by giving control to the
user.

4. Latest Trends in IoT
 IT companies are entering into the era of Internet of
things. Companies like TCS,WIPRO are investing in this
new and high end technology of IoT.
 About 10 Billion devices are connected to the Internet in
2015.
 Some smart automatives are being developed using IoT
technology like Driverless car, which is developed by
Google.
 The enterprise sector is going to lead IoT, accounting for
46% of device shipments in 2015.

5. Trends that can make big impact
The trends that are expected to make a big
impact in the next 5 years are:
 Self-driving car of Google involves the IoT
technology for autonomous cars, mainly electric
cars.
 The concept of smart cities which came into
existence by the IoT will grow significantly in the
next 5 years.
 The Smart houses, smart wearables will gain much
attention of people and the IT sector and the
companies will start to widen their development in
IoT technology.

6. Areas of Interest
My areas of interest in Internet of Things are:-
 Smart Devices(including Security devices).
 Smart Automatives.
 Smart wearables .
 Smart houses and the developments that involve IoT technology.
I’ll apply my skills, knowledge and guidance of others to innovate something in the
field of IoT.
I would like to work on the following if I will be given an internship in this area:-
 Smart devices ,smart wearables, security devices, etc that involves Internet of
Things Technology.
