4. Green Building Design-Goals
» Set a goal for all new buildings projects, other than
acute-care facilities, to outperform the required
provisions of the CA Energy Code (Title 24) by at
least 20%
» All new building construction will be a minimum of
LEED™ 2.1 “Certified”
» Campuses will strive to achieve a standard
equivalent to a LEED™ “Silver” rating or higher
» The UC will design and build all new laboratory
buildings to a minimum LEED™ 2.1 “Certified” rating
and the Laboratories for the 21st Century (Labs 21)
