Qom is a city in Iran. It lies 156 kilometers (97 mi) by road southwest of Tehran and is the
capital of Qom Province. At the 2006 census, its population was 957,496, in 241,827 families. It

Textile is a traditional Iranian industry that originated from native science and expert

such as "Iran Merinoos". This factory has been established in 1968 out of the city on that time.
Due to the extension of city, the factory located in the urban context. Textile industry
renovation law however means that large factories are no longer allowed in the heart of the
city, resulting in this particular factory being relocated. Consequently, the site of the former
factory has been earmarked by Qom municipality for extensive redevelopment targeting ever

One proposal for the part of the site being considered by the consultant engineers was a

• The design of the museum can be enhanced by providing a commercial outlet, offering
textile products, thereby adding upon revenue of Qom City,Iran.
