SMART SOLUTIONOF SMART CITIES MISSION
"SMART SOLUTION OF SMART CITIES
MISSION"
Laterly, there's been a lot of talk about smart cities . But do you know what they are? What
defines a smart cities and makes it different from regular city? In general, A smart city is a
city that we technology to provided services and solve citiy problem. A city does thinks like
improve transportation and accessibility, inprove social services, promote sustainability,
and give it citizens a voice. Through the term "smart cities" is new, the idea isn't. Ancient
Roman cities actually used element of the concept, such as using technology to make their
citizens lives easier. The main goals of a smart city are to improve policy efficiency,
reduced waste and inconvenience, improve social and economics quality, and maximize
social inclusion.
#Objectives :
1. Safety: Reducing accidents, injuries
facilities, and EMS response times.
2. Sustainability: Reducing CO2
emissions and other pollutants
contaminants.
3. Efficiency: Impoving city operations
and logistics to offset costs.
4. . Equality : Creatings Ladders of
opportunities for under-served or under
privileged areas.
5.Engagement: Improving citizen
engagement and social interactions.
#History in the light of smart cities:
A smart city is a relatively new concept. The dynamic development of innovative technologies
provides opportunities to build smart cities. However, as domonstrated by the literature review ,
excess focus on the technologycal aspect alone leads to many problems in the implementation of
the smart cities concept.
⦁ The concept of the smart cities began as far back as the 1960s and 1970s ehen the us
community analysis Bureav began using data base, aerial photography and cluster analysis to
collect data, direct resources and issue reports in order to direct services, mitigate against disaster
and reduced poverty.
The first generation of smart city was delivered by technology provides to understand the
This lead to the second generation of smart city, which looked at how
smart technology and other innovations could create joined-up municipal
solution.
The third generation of smart city look the control away from technology
provides and city leaders, instead creating amodel that involved the public
and enabled social inclusion and community enagement.
This third generation model was adopted by vienna, who created a
partnership with the local wien energy company, allowing citizens to
invest in local solar plants as well as working with the public to resolve
gender equality and affordable housing issues.
# Giving to society :
1.Moer effective, data-driven decision making:
Advancements in "big data" and connect device have allowed cities access to
information thats never been available before. A well-designed data analytics strategy gives city
officials that ability to access and analyze a massive amount of information and easily glean
meaningful, actionable insights. when a city can monitor desired metrics in real time, service levels
quickly rise.
2. Enhanced citizen and government engagement :
Citizens today expect to deliver robust, user-friendly digital services. collaboration tools,
modern and intuitive websites, mobile applications. self-service portals, and convenient online
accounts have becomes the standard in many facets of life and citizens expects no less from their
city. Expanding digital services in communities make smart cities a more attractive place for
residentals to live and promote a connectad citizen experience.
3. Safe communities :
A smart city is a safe city. Leveraging technology advanced and and pursuing /public
partnerships help reduce criminal activity. Technology such as Licience plate
recognitions, gunshort dectors, connected crime centers, next-generation 911, and
body cameras all give law enforcement and edge while on the job.
4. Reduced Environment Footprint :
With the rise of greenhouse gases, debris in our oceans, and trash in our streets,
smart cities are fighting back to reduced negative on the environments. Energy-efficient
buildings, air quality sensors, and renewable energy sources are providings cities with new
tools so shrinks their ecological impact. Such adoption has continved around the world,
including in vancouver, where 30,000 citizens co-created the vancouver greenest city 2020
Action plan.
5. Improved transportation :
Smart city transportation investments are expects to rise over 25% annual over the
next five years, according to smart city. Press connected transportation system have some of
the greatest potential to drastically enhance efficiencies throughout a city. From enhanced
traffic management to public transit riders ability to track bus or train locations, smart
technologies allow cities to better serve citizens depsite often rapidly growing populations.
6. Increased digital equity :
Smart city tehnology has the ability to create a more equitable environment for
citizens. To ensure digital equality, Individuals must 3 have access to high-speed internet
services and to affordable device. The adoption of public wi-fi hotspots strategically placed
throughout a city can offer reliable internet services to all residents. Take the city of seattle,
for example; which has developed a plan to deliver skills training, ensure availabity of
affordable devices, and provide accessible and low-cost internet connections.
7. New economic development opportunites :
The public investment in smart city technology has a large potential multiplier effect up
to 10 times, according to a recent report , which means massive expansion in gross domestic
product growth when cities innovate. Providing an open data platform with access to city
information, businesses are better able to make informed decions through data analystics from
integrated smart city technologies.
8. Increased workforce enagement :
Smart cities can transform the work environment by streamlining manual processes and
giving employes greater opportunites to reach their full potential while also providing citizens
with improved services.
• The conclusion of smart cities :
The smart city agenda entails improving the citizens quality of life,
strenghtening and diversiting the economy while prioritizing environmental
sustainability through adoption of smart solution.
Making Smart cities Sustainable
Sustainability and urbanization pose big challenges
to city commissioners and urban planners. Ever
since the advent of the notion of sustainable
development, the idea of pursuing a sustainable
urban development model for cities has been
gaining increasing importance. At the same time,
ICT and its applications have played a
transformational role in solving complex problems
around the world. The potential to use ICT-enabled
solutions for helping cities deliver innovative and
improved services to citizens led to the concept of
smart cities.
A city which is both sustainable and smart will
leverage ICT as well as place the sustainability lens
over urban development and planning.
The pillars of a smart sustainable city are also
directly or indirectly aligned with the objectives of
the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). The
closer the integration of sustainability into India’s
‘100 Smart Cities’ initiative, the greater will be the
linkages with the SDGs.
Components of smart
city
1.How can co2 gas emissions be reduced?
There are many ways to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from the industrial sector,
including energy efficiency, fuel switching, combined heat and power, use of renewable
energy, and the more efficient use and recycling of materials.
2.What can cities do to reduce carbon emissions?
These include decarbonising the electricity grid, optimising energy efficiency in
buildings, offering residents low-carbon transport options and improving how we manage
waste.
3. What technology can reduce co2?
Carbon capture and storage is an example of a technology that prevents CO2 from going into
the atmosphere.
