INTRODUCTION:
AW-Mos Development & Relief Organization (ADRO) is a local NGO; it is a non- politic,
non- governmental, non-religious and non-profit making organization operating in Somalia
the NGO is community based organization working for humanitarian Relief in close
collaboration with UN Agencies and intentional Organization, in order to support and cover
the needs of the community population effected by the conflict natural disasters and
diseases outbreak
Aw-Mos Development and relief organization established 1992 by group of intellectuals
who felt the pain of the community and the need of the local organization working for
Humanitarian Relief and Development by tackling the problems facing the community
especially vulnerable group as woman, children and Elders, when the form government
collapsed the people met tragedy and unseen fatuous problems that followed by clannish
clashes and endless war that resulted:
The situation is deteriorating day by day after the community members met in order to
minimize the problems the members were intellectuals, foresights, Elders Minority group,
Woman, Youth and stockholders. The community agreed to establish Aw-mos
Development and relief organization that works humanitarian activities in Bay and Bakool
Regions.
ADRO is registered and with the federal government of Somalia under the Ministry of
internal and National Security and regional levels, ADRO works closely with community at
large in the region
ADRO NGO will manage and scale-up intervention in Health, Nutrition, Water/sanitation
and Hygiene promotion and continue to focus on similar priority area such as Education
Child protection and food insecurity in the area of the southern Somalia.
1. Vision
Aw-mos strive to achieve broadened opportunities’ for a secure and sustainable livelihood
for disadvantaged community with particular emphases on vulnerable communities.
2. Mission
Aw-mos is committed in competing to bring about lasting positive solution to address the
poverty and sufferings’ of the poor marginalized women and children in order to improve
their living standard and build their capacity to sustain their lives
.
3. Goal
Aw-mos vision is enhancing gender equity and equality by addressing the root causes of
harmful practices and social norms, discriminatory against women and children promoting
the empowerment of women and children in all developmental facets.
Objectives

1. To build up the social and economic conditions and promote the development of
man and the well-being of the community.
2. To discharge its social responsibility towards society in social development for the
total well-being of the community.
3. To help the provision of the approach for the social development in our depressed
communities.
4. To manage and resolve inter-communal, resource-based conflicts and establish
dispute settlement mechanism
5. To work with the community based organizations, government
organizations/entities, business organization and local and international donors in
the promotion of community development.
4. Our Core Values:
 ADRO believes that the Live of all human being is equal value and poverty is in justice
and makes women and children vulnerable to natural calamities and conflicts,
 Poor people poverty and sufferings are increased by un-equal relation based on
gender, race, class and disability that women and children who made the majority of
the world poor are far most marginalized,
 To work together we can build a Justice and safer the world in which people take
control over their lives and enjoy equal rights.
 ADRO is also non-religious, non-political, non-profit and non-discriminating
organization. However, local religious, cultural and historical traditions are integrated
into our every day work with the women and children. We do not exclude influences
from other cultures, if there is a gain for the project.
5. Our Goals:
 Is to strive to achieve a broadened opportunities for a secure and sustainable livelihood
for disadvantaged community with particular emphasize to women and children who
are the articulated theme of the organization
6. Our Program Principles
 Pastoral women Progress in the field of development and their children care
 Land escape of environmental protection
 Raising up women and children education and Elimination of old traditional practices
including FGM
 Assisting women to have access to employment through supporting apprenticeship,
vocational and other technical skills training
 Improve their livelihood, through natural resources, local crop production,
environmental improvements schemes, livestock health care services
 Water, sanitation and hygiene promotion programs interventions
 Improve health, nutrition and family planning programs as well as support programs
designed to empower women and youth groups
Improve poor people to earn living through training and running income generation opportunities

I. Partnership formation
Identify strategic partnership at all levels, strengthen strategic partnership at all levels
Undertake advocacy, sensitizations activities
ADRO and its technical staff, including the founding committees are basically development
oriented focusing on projects/programme mainly initiating through community participation
in all prioritizing stages, planning, designing, implementing and evaluation/monitoring of
the projects.
Result - oriented:
We trust that in order for us to active the required impact and effectiveness in all our
projects/Activities, we must be focused on our results and ensure that our activities and
efforts are result – oriented
Our Mandate includes
1. To contribute to the improvement to health, the prevention of disease and the
mitigation of suffering.
2. To organize, the within the scope of the national plan, emergency relief services for the
victims of disaster
3. Promote accessibility of the community to clean and wholesome water
4. Strengthen the community capacity through training on their general welfare by
developing a strong and appropriate capacity building initiatives
5. Uplift the standard of the community by means of a sustainable income – generating
activities
6. Develop a poverty reduction programme which targets the most vulnerable groups
among the community e.g. the invisible poor, disables, women and children.
7. Facilitates conflict management measures through sustainable peace building
initiatives
8. Advocate for policies on democracy, human rights and good governance.
9. Combating the spread of contagious diseases like HIV/AIDS, STDS so on to have a
health community within the pastoral nomadic in Somali Region.
10. Discourage negative cultural practices among the nomadic pastoral communities of
the region e.g. FGM, early marriage, drug abuse and child prostitution and labor.
11. To mitigate for interventions measures in terms of disasters and emergency during
drought, floods and conflicts by providing relief supplies and humanitarian services in
conjunction with other agencies with similar ideals
12. Collaborate and network other development actors in the region
13. Support agro-pastoral farmers through provision of appropriate technology and
promotion of technical knowhow.
14. To empower capacity of the community to manage and maintain their natural
resources e.g. water, pasture and vegetation by promoting
15. Gender balance and women empowerment abilities.
All projects will be implemented in a way to be ensured that:
 All decisions will be taken for the best interest of the beneficiaries.
 All projects and activities will be implementing for the benefit of the beneficiaries,
without regarding to their gender, religion, ethnicity, nationality, origin, and health, legal,
political and social backgrounds.

 All projects aim at building sustainable futures for all beneficiaries including their
communities.
 Beneficiaries, teams and the organizations will be effectively protected from abuse and
it is clearly exposed through a Child Protection Policy that every staff agrees and sign.
All projects implemented will particularly pay attention to the following points:
 To have access to medical care, shelter, clothing, food
 Have access to live in a safe environment protected from all forms of abuse and
neglect.
 The right to have all aspects and normal development link to the aforesaid societies:
access to education and integration in the public educational and form or system of
developmental interventions.
Financial Management and Transparency
ADRO is committed to ensure the realization of the following documents:
 Ensure a yearly annual audit by a certified and external company.
 Annual report, specific reports and the report from the auditor to all donors upon
request and ADRO will use a clear and transparent financial system:
 All the procedures will be implementing in a financial policy that every staff should
respect.
 All the details concerning the procedures are available in the Financial Policy.
Human Resource Management
 All the relations between the organization “Aw-mos Development and Relief
sOrganization (ADRO) and its employees are clarified in a staff/personnel management
manual policy and in individual contracts. Based on the labor law
 All the procedures are clearly implemented in the staff/personnel policy (recruitment,
staff regulations, working time, medical care, holidays, termination of contract,
salaries…).
 All staffs must agree with a staff policy before starting employment with woman and
child concern association (ADRO).
 The executive committee is the group of coordinators which decides as a
collective organ.
 The general manager and deputy general manager have representative
functions.
 Every project managers or coordinators are responsible for the individual budget
of his/her own project and sub-offices.

INTRODUCTION: AW-Mos Development & Relief Organization (ADRO) is a local NGO; it is a non- politic, non- governmental, non-religious and non-profit making organization operating in Somalia the NGO is community based organization working for humanitarian Relief in close collaboration with UN Agencies and intentional Organization, in order to support and cover the needs of the community population effected by the conflict natural disasters and diseases outbreak Aw-Mos Development and relief organization established 1992 by group of intellectuals who felt the pain of the community and the need of the local organization working for Humanitarian Relief and Development by tackling the problems facing the community especially vulnerable group as woman, children and Elders, when the form government collapsed the people met tragedy and unseen fatuous problems that followed by clannish clashes and endless war that resulted: The situation is deteriorating day by day after the community members met in order to minimize the problems the members were intellectuals, foresights, Elders Minority group, Woman, Youth and stockholders. The community agreed to establish Aw-mos Development and relief organization that works humanitarian activities in Bay and Bakool Regions. ADRO is registered and with the federal government of Somalia under the Ministry of internal and National Security and regional levels, ADRO works closely with community at large in the region ADRO NGO will manage and scale-up intervention in Health, Nutrition, Water/sanitation and Hygiene promotion and continue to focus on similar priority area such as Education Child protection and food insecurity in the area of the southern Somalia. 1. Mission Aw-mos is committed in competing to bring about lasting positive solution to address the poverty and sufferings’ of the poor marginalized women and children in order to improve their living standard and build their capacity to sustain their lives . 3. Goal Aw-mos vision is enhancing gender equity and equality by addressing the root causes of harmful practices and social norms, discriminatory against women and children promoting the empowerment of women and children in all developmental facets. However, local religious, cultural and historical traditions are integrated into our every day work with the women and children. We do not exclude influences from other cultures, if there is a gain for the project. 5. Partnership formation Identify strategic partnership at all levels, strengthen strategic partnership at all levels Undertake advocacy, sensitizations activities ADRO and its technical staff, including the founding committees are basically development oriented focusing on projects/programme mainly initiating through community participation in all prioritizing stages, planning, designing, implementing and evaluation/monitoring of the projects. Result - oriented: We trust that in order for us to active the required impact and effectiveness in all our projects/Activities, we must be focused on our results and ensure that our activities and efforts are result – oriented Our Mandate includes 1. To contribute to the improvement to health, the prevention of disease and the mitigation of suffering. 2. To organize, the within the scope of the national plan, emergency relief services for the victims of disaster 3. Promote accessibility of the community to clean and wholesome water 4. Strengthen the community capacity through training on their general welfare by developing a strong and appropriate capacity building initiatives 5. Uplift the standard of the community by means of a sustainable income – generating activities 6. Develop a poverty reduction programme which targets the most vulnerable groups among the community e.g. the invisible poor, disables, women and children. 7. Facilitates conflict management measures through sustainable peace building initiatives 8. Advocate for policies on democracy, human rights and good governance. 9. Combating the spread of contagious diseases like HIV/AIDS, STDS so on to have a health community within the pastoral nomadic in Somali Region. 10. Discourage negative cultural practices among the nomadic pastoral communities of the region e.g. FGM, early marriage, drug abuse and child prostitution and labor. 11. To mitigate for interventions measures in terms of disasters and emergency during drought, floods and conflicts by providing relief supplies and humanitarian services in conjunction with other agencies with similar ideals 12. Collaborate and network other development actors in the region 13. Support agro-pastoral farmers through provision of appropriate technology and promotion of technical knowhow. 14. To empower capacity of the community to manage and maintain their natural resources e.g. water, pasture and vegetation by promoting 15. Gender balance and women empowerment abilities. All projects will be implemented in a way to be ensured that:  All decisions will be taken for the best interest of the beneficiaries.  All projects and activities will be implementing for the benefit of the beneficiaries, without regarding to their gender, religion, ethnicity, nationality, origin, and health, legal, political and social backgrounds. 9
  • 10.  All projects aim at building sustainable futures for all beneficiaries including their communities.  Beneficiaries, teams and the organizations will be effectively protected from abuse and it is clearly exposed through a Child Protection Policy that every staff agrees and sign. All projects implemented will particularly pay attention to the following points:  To have access to medical care, shelter, clothing, food  Have access to live in a safe environment protected from all forms of abuse and neglect.  The right to have all aspects and normal development link to the aforesaid societies: access to education and integration in the public educational and form or system of developmental interventions. Financial Management and Transparency ADRO is committed to ensure the realization of the following documents:  Ensure a yearly annual audit by a certified and external company.  Annual report, specific reports and the report from the auditor to all donors upon request and ADRO will use a clear and transparent financial system:  All the procedures will be implementing in a financial policy that every staff should respect.  All the details concerning the procedures are available in the Financial Policy. Human Resource Management  All the relations between the organization “Aw-mos Development and Relief sOrganization (ADRO) and its employees are clarified in a staff/personnel management manual policy and in individual contracts. Based on the labor law  All the procedures are clearly implemented in the staff/personnel policy (recruitment, staff regulations, working time, medical care, holidays, termination of contract, salaries…).  All staffs must agree with a staff policy before starting employment with woman and child concern association (ADRO).  The executive committee is the group of coordinators which decides as a collective organ.  The general manager and deputy general manager have representative functions.  Every project managers or coordinators are responsible for the individual budget of his/her own project and sub-offices. 10
