Working as Microbiologist (food, water and drug) from 2016 Sep till date in
Microbiology Department.
FirstSource Laboratory Solutions LLP. (Analytical Services), a third party analytical
testing laboratory, provides analytical testing services to various industries, research and
development organizations and regulatory bodies in drug and pharmaceutical, food and
agricultural and environment fields as per national and international requirements. The
laboratory is accredited as per ISO/ IEC 17025:2005 from National Accreditation Board for
Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL). It is also recognized from Agricultural and
Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA). The laboratory holds the
status of approved analyst from international trade association like Grain and Feed Trade
Association (GAFTA), London. And US FDA inspected.
Job Description
Primary Responsibilities:
 Member of microbiology department and reporting to laboratory manager.
 Performs the assigned duties with integrity and professional ethics.
 Follow the laid down procedures and comply with the requirements of management
system.
 Perform the assigned analysis/task accurately and precisely as per specified protocol.
 Safe and adequate handling and storage of test items.
 Record the original observations of task and complete the data and file them
carefully.
 To conduct verification of critical supplies and adequate, safe storage and handling of
supplies.
 Maintaining the good housekeeping in laboratory.
 Perform the environment monitoring and record them.
 Operate and maintain the un keep of equipments with timely calibration and
maintenance and maintain records of same.
 Adequate handling, and ensuring storage, periodic verification, usage of CRM/RS
and maintain record of same.
 To undergo the trainings to train the self in order to meet the organization.
 To prepare protocols, perform the analysis to revalidate the methods and prepare the
validation data.
 Conduct the test along with required quality control (QC) parameters; estimate the
uncertainty of measurement as per the scope of laboratory.
 To prepare the assigned SOP’s.
 To involve in investigation of root cause and finding the corrective actions any
deviations.
 Liason with QAD in relation to quality matters affecting the testing.
 Complete other tasks as assigned time to time,
 Maintenance of laboratory documents as per ISO 9001-2008, ISO/IEC 17025-
2005.
 Participation in inter laboratory comparisons.
Technical skills:
 Analysis of various agri-commodities such as Food grains, Spices &
Condiments, Processed foods & Canned foods, Milk & Dairy products, Sugar,
Honey & Confectionary, Meat, Poultry & Fish products and Water including food
pathogens by adherence to SOP’s and as per BIS, IS, APHA and ISO methods .
 Water sampling as per APHA and BIS standards.
 Microbiological analysis for water as per IS 14543:2005, IS 10500:2012, and MPN
technique.
 Microbiological analysis for Total plate count, Total yeast and mould count,
qualitative and quantitative detection for E.Coli, staphylococcus aureus,
Enterobacteriace, coli forms salmonella SPP, Listeria sp’s, bacillus cereus, vibrio
cholera, vibrio parahemoliticas, Fecal streptococci, Clostridium perfringens,
shigella, Mesophili aerobic bacterial count, and etc in all food and water samples and
Raw materials, finished products and processed materials, as per the test methods.
 Microbiological analysis of Fish and Fisheries’, Meat and Meat products, Egg and
Egg products as per BAM (Bacteriological analytical methods), ISO standards, and
EIC regulatory.
 Microbiological testing for API products MLT (Microbial limit test), BET (Bacterial
endo toxin), TAMC, TYMC, and Pathogens testing.
 Perform tests for antibiotic-resistant spores of Bacillus clausii drug substances and
drug products.
 Perform (GPT) growth promotion test for culture Medias.
 Perform culture standardization of pure cultures for MLT.
 Method development and method validation for drug products and maintain records
for the same.
 Perform MLT and BET for API products as per customer methods.
 Perform Heterotrophic bacterial count for water as per APHA method.
