2. People in Military camps The prisons drained all food supplies from prisoners. There was very little medical care, and diseases spread quickly. when a person was captured they had a slim to none chance of returning to their home land. They usually died at the camps. on average 100 prisoners died per day. The bodies were burried outside the prison, wrapped in only cloth They were rarley fed, and were forced to work in extreme conditions . People were captured for the prisons in battles and for ransom.

4. Andersonville Prison was one of the biggest prison during the Civil War. it belonged to the South Drained food supplies for the south soldiers from neighbooring north cities. Provided little housing, food, clothing, and medical care to it's prisoners. Sometimes prisoners would go many weeks without food . It had 16.5 acres of open land surrounded by 15 ft. tall walls.

5. Belle Isle Prison Second biggest prison, also owned by the south. Stormy and disagreeable weather almost every day. 15-25 people died every day. Their bodies were burried outside the prison, wrapped in just a sheet. When prisoners arrived, they had to give up all their belongings and clothes. Once prisoners were in this prison, they could never get out. They aall died there.
