Idea’s pitch
Creature Productions
Idea 1

 Our initial idea was based around the story of an orphan girl
who has to go through her days living on her
own, financially supporting herself and living in a cardboard
box, the documentary explores the day-to-day life of this girl
as she struggles to cope with her life.
Idea 2
 The third idea we had in mind was documenting the lifestyle
of a specific person of a specific ethnic background, this
documentary will follow this persons daily lifestyle as they
struggle to cope in society due to the various viewpoints and
labels placed on them by the society they live in, Overall the
documentary would have reflected how this person is treated
in their life due to their ethnic origin.
Idea 3
 Our third idea was to make a film trailer about the life of a
teenager delivery boy who dropped out of school to piss of
his parents. One day he received a package and its contents
was a bomb and he accidentally dropped it and it exploded
destroying the entire city. He survived and became a mutant
and he has to make the choice of using his mutant powers
  for good or evil.
Idea 4
 Our final idea was to produce a documentary about a high
school boy who decided to drop out of education and pursue
competitive gaming, as he believed that what he was doing
was not what he really wanted to do and it shows the
success and lifestyle of someone who has changed their life
by making the right decisions and following his dreams.
Chosen Idea
 As a group we decided that idea 4 will be the one that we will
  be producing
 We chose this idea because we believed that it appeals to
our target audience the most out all the ideas.
 We also chose this idea as we believed that it would be fun
  and interesting to carry out.
Research
 As part of our research and planning we conducted an
  audience survey
 From our results we learnt that a majority of our audience
were interested in viewing an observational documentary
 Looking at our list of ideas we found that the final idea
  resembled this the most.

                                          Participative
                                              16% Reflective
                                                                24%

                                   Subjective
                                     10%

                                   Expository
                                     12%
                                                          Observational
                                                             38%
Research
 We also found out that a higher percentage of people wanted
to be entertained more than informed.
 This also influenced our decision to continue on with idea 4
as we believed it would be the most entertaining choice out
  of the 4.
 We also considered our trailer idea however due to the lack
of a budged we decided that we should do it.

                                                           Informed
                                                              42%

                                         Entertained
                                            58%
Ancillary tasks
 As part of our ancillary tasks we will create a newspaper print
  advert and a radio advert.
 We have carried out research on both types of advertising
methods and found out that these forms of advertising will
easily create synergy with our documentary
Ancillary Tasks – Newspaper ad
 To create synergy with our documentary we thought that the
newspaper advert would work well as
 It can inform our audience by providing a quick glimpse of the
  documentary and information on it
 Providing an alternative to view it online as some
  newspapers offer this.
Ancillary Tasks – Radio ad
 No text so it appeals to teenagers as they do not like reading.
 We have found out that many teenagers prefer radio adverts
rather than having to read magazines, as with magazines
they have to buy magazines while radio adverts are free.
 We believe it will create synergy as our topic is very technical
and modern so we have to suit that role.
