Teaching approach: I’ll use the communicative approach in order to give the
students the opportunity to use the language to communicate in real
situations.
Integration of skills: The four skills will be integrated. Reading and writing will
be developed by reading and writing texts. Listening and speaking will be
also developed through listening to the teacher and the classmates and by
reading and repeating vocabulary/ phrases. Communicative skills will be
developed by interaction.
Materials and resources: in the classroom we will use a poster.
Pedagogical use of ICT in class or at home: ICT will be present because
students will use their cell phones to look for new words on the online
dictionary or translator.
Seating arrangement: Students will be in their seats. They can sit in groups to
share opinions.
Assessment: what will be assessed and how: I’ll monitor all my students
through the lesson and I’ll check whether if they understand what I say or
not. I’ll try to make them repeat the different patterns and encourage them
to use the chunks meaningfully.
Warm up (10 minutes)
Purpose: To begin the lesson and create a comfortable atmosphere; to introduce
the students to the topic.
We’ll enter the classroom and we’ll greet each other. Students will sit in their seats.
“How are you today? In the previous lesson we talked about the things you like, right?
I want to keep learning things about you today, and as this is out last lesson I want
you to make a project about your pleasures” I will write the on the blackboard the
phrase ‘I can’t imagine my life without…’, “Look at this phrase, I can’t imagine my life
3. without… family.” I will try the students understand what the phrase means “What
about you?” students will answer about them “Great, job!”
Transition: “Ok, I want to show you my project”
Presentation (15 minutes)
Purpose: To Expose the students to the language; to enhance students’
communicative skills and to develop or improve comprehensive skills.
I will show the students a poster that I made about the things I love. They will have
to observe it and read the things I list. We will discuss about it. “Look at my project.
I can’t imagine my life without family, friends, chocolate (I’ll keep reading and
pointing the things that appear on the poster), tell me about you now!” Students will
speak about themselves.
(This is not my
poster. I took this
from internet. I’ll do
my own poster as
soon as possible)
Transition: “It’s your turn now to make the project!”
Development (20 minutes)
Purpose: to develop communicative skills; to foster interaction and to check
students’ knowledge of new vocabulary.
Activity 1: Students will have to make a poster about the things they consider
important for them. They will use mine as example. As this is the last lesson I’ve
decided to make this project so they can keep the poster on their classroom’s walls.
I think this can be motivating for them. They can write the important things at first
in a list, and then they can make the poster.
4. Transition: “Great jobs! Let’s share your projects!”
Closure (15 minutes)
Purpose: to raise students’ motivation.
At this stage, students will share their posters with their mates and we will speak
about them. Then they will have to stick them in the classroom’s walls.
“It was a pleasure for me to be your teacher this month! You were really nice with me
and I’m very happy! Thank you very much! Have a great day” I’ll give the students a
present .
