A Synopsis of KC Solutions Group
America has always been seen as a country where people from all over the world come bringing
with them their hopes and dreams of integrating into one society ofhard working and goal oriented citizens.
For generations citizens and immigrants alike have united in the common efforts to add value to this great
country. But things have changed. No longer do people abandon their cultures, foreign or domestic, to
integrate into one type of “American”.
Today, our country is not so reflective ofa blended Melting Pot. With more and more people
holding on to their own cultural, educational, and religious beliefs America today may be bestdescribed as
a “Salad Bowl”. More than ever it is comprised ofindividuals living outthere differing cultural identities.
There is no greater reflection of this than in the workplaces. All across the country business owners
are struggling to understand their responsibilities and their legal guidelines which define acceptable versus
unacceptable employee practices, and how these differences affecttheir company. The last thing any
business needs, or wants, is to make a mistake in this crucial area. The results of improperly handling
individual employee practices and relations can be devastating for the company.
KC Solutions Group is dedicated to understanding how to level the field for a workforce with
varying cultural expectations. We bring our cumulative team experience in this area into an organization to
assess, educate, and develop a unified cultural understanding so all associates are operating from a
predetermined culture developed to enhance work environments and attain improved business results.
Such efforts have been proven to affectemployee turnover as well.
Employee turnover is a major hurdle for companies striving to achieve setgoals. Often times, itcan
be an indication ofnon-cohesive work practices. The results ofemployee turnover are constant and un-
wanted expenditures. Hiring and on-boarding new employees is costly, and italso plays a major role in the
disruption ofoperations. The costofreplacing an employee can run as high as 150 percentofan
employee’s annual salary. However, there are other expenses that are not so obvious. Lowered
productivity, over-worked remaining staff, lostknowledge, training costs, interviewing costs, and recruiters
can all add up to a huge impactto a company’s bottom line. One ofthe mosteffective ways to reduce these
mounting costs is to determine and address the foundational issues that cause employees to leave their
employment in the first place.
When exploring the top reasons associates leave companies, the one most often expected atthe
top is employee compensation; money. However, study after study proves that this just isn’t so. While
compensation seems to always be in the top ten reasons for employees seeking change, itis mostoften
found farther down the list. The more common reasons have to do with areas reflective of work culture.
Issues such as their relationships with bosses, their relationships with co-workers, a lack ofrecognition of
job performance, and an overall feeling that they are underappreciated in their contribution to the goals of
the company are the mostcommonly stated factors. Once again, issues reflective ofthe company culture.
It is often said that there is a war for talent in corporate America today. However, the competition
waged for talent is actually only a battle fought on a much larger battlefield. The war is actually won or lost
over the retention ofthat exceptional talent. Employees at all levels within workplaces ofall kinds spend an
enormous amountof their time and energy at work. Work consists roughly ofa third of that person’s life.
Companies that tap into the true needs and wants of its employees are the companies that will win the war
of retention; and employee loyalty is directly associated with strong, caring, and ethically sound corporate
cultures.
It is in the corporate work culture arena that KC Solutions Group has gained and perfected its
experience and expertise. We are a unique talent managementcompany that helps clients determine their
cultural and moral direction by working directly with organizational leaders. The new direction and values
are then integrated into various operations, ranging from hiring and onboarding processes to management
strategies. Once in place, this new cultural course is reflected in the attitudes ofemployees resulting in
more productive and more stress free work environments, as well as an increase in the bottom line ofthe
company.
Is changing a corporate culture a simple mission? No, itisn’tsimple atall. It actually requires hard
work, a dedicated leadership team, and a commitmentto change from the very top ofthe organization.
But, KC Solutions Group has developed a proven method ofnegotiating corporate cultural change in large
and small organizations. Once the right culture is identified a team ofknowledgeable and experienced
professionals from KC Solutions Group work with a selectgroup in your organization to implementthe
proper solutions.
Our plan always begins with a number of proven assessmentand interview tools to determine the
current corporate culture ofyour organization. All corporate cultures fall within the paradigms ofa culture
matrix. Determining where in that matrix your culture operates is essential for the proper alignmentof
people and resources in order to attain the greatestbusiness results for the leastamount ofcompany
assets. Mostcompanies in America could streamline their effectiveness by investing the time and effort in
cultural re-configuration.
Once we have helped identify the current culture, the KC Solutions Group team will then begin the
process ofeducation. The contentofthe education program is determined in the initial assessment. In
addition, we define and discuss culture and the importance and relevance ofethics to a desired culture, as
well as the importance ofa “living” Purpose Statementwith honestand workable Values and Goals. We
also work to develop a Code ofConductso all employees know what actions and conduct are acceptable
and unacceptable within your work environment. All organizations operate more efficiently and effectively
when we remove the gray areas. This eliminates the multicultural confusion broughtinto the workplace and
places everyone on the same agreed upon values and goals platform.
The agreed upon actions implemented by your leadership group and our KC Solutions Group
specialists will be unlike anything guiding your competitor. Mostcompanies and organizations who develop
Purpose, Mission, and Vision Statements stop after these documents are formed. However, KC Solutions
Group will continue the work by implementing the newly developed characteristics and standards ofyour
company into the process managementtools resulting in a truly sustainable cultural transformation.
Rather than becoming a documenthanging on a wall or remaining in a hiring packet, these newly
developed actions and goals will become a partofthe fabric and the foundation of the company by existing
in performance reviews and training materials at all levels. Employees will be held accountable to, and
evaluated on a setof pre-determined and well communicated good practice expectations. Thus, ensuring
that every employee is continuously aware ofthe high quality standards that are expected in their work
performance; both internally and externally. Once these individualized standards are in place, employees
begin to understand what their employer stands for and how they can be a part of it.
Employees wantto work for employers who are well respected within their communities and their
profession. They want to know they are a part of an organization which is a leader in good business
practices and measures itself in the pride ofexcellentcustomer and associate relationships. They want to
participate in work cultures that promote and practice attributes such as honesty, kindness, trust, and
integrity. They perform better when they know that these attributes are valued on a corporate level and are
consistently practiced as work expectations. They also want to know that these practices are sustained and
will last far beyond any flash-in-the-pan program that only treats symptoms, and never addresses the roots
of a mediocre or hostile cultural environment.
Each employee in your organization represents a family. When employees feel good aboutwhere
they work their lives are inherently less stressful and they perform with more confidence. That peace of
mind is transferred beyond the workplace and into the home. It is then reflected in the care that is shown
within their family life. At KC Solutions Group we believe thatthe mostimportant assetany company
possesses is its employees. Success in business is truly measured by whatis accomplished in the lives of
those who are touched by our commitmentto integrity, honesty, and our strong ethics. When these
attributes are developed, a strong bottom line will naturally follow.
