  1. 1. “CLOUD COMPUTING” The Emerging Model Of IT Industry By VIGNESH.R
  2. 2. What is Cloud? Cloud Computing is the emerging concept and technology which extensively changed the structure of IT industry by decreasing the requirements of Software's, Licenses, Storage Space, Hardware etc., Lets take an example, Hire Cab Pay only for the KM’s or Time used No worry about Maintenance, Finance Hire Cloud Pay only for the Services and Usage No worry about Software's, Licenses, Storage, Hardware etc., Storage, Hardware etc., www.migrantsystems.com
  3. 3. What is in Cloud?  Cloud can be both software as well as infrastructure  Cloud Architecture consists of Front end and Back end and can be accessed via a web or a server. Front End  It’s a client computer can be individual or an organization.  Client login into the cloud through browser and can be customize his account based on needs.  Client is charged on pay-as-you-use basis. Back End  It consists of computers, servers, data storage systems.  Once login cloud middle ware checks the storage, OS, network availability and provides the required services to the client. www.migrantsystems.com

  5. 5. SaaS, IaaS, PaaS Software as a Service (SaaS)  Providing Software applications as service over Internet  Eliminates the need to install patches provide security and maintain it on customers premises. Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)  Providing Infrastructure on Demand  On demand utilities like server scale up/scale down Platform as a Service (PaaS)  Combining SaaS and PaaS  Delivering computing platform as a Service  ( A web application with underlying technical components with Hardware) www.migrantsystems.com
  6. 6. Do you Use the Cloud? www.migrantsystems.com
  7. 7. Benefits  File Sharing  Access from devices  Reduced software costs  Improved performance:  Instant software updates  Unlimited storage capacity  Increased data reliability www.migrantsystems.com
  8. 8. What is the purpose?  Cloud computing enables companies and applications, which are system infrastructure dependent, to be infrastructure-less.  By using the Cloud infrastructure on “pay as used and on demand”, all of us can save in capital and operational investment!  Clients can: – Put their data on the platform instead of on their own desktop PCs and/or on their own servers. – They can put their applications on the cloud and use the servers within the cloud to do processing and data manipulations etc. www.migrantsystems.com
  9. 9. Advantages  Can be less expensive compared to buying software and hardware  Can be used from any computer or device with an Internet connection  The device does not need as large of an internal storage system  Compatible with most computers and operating systems  Updates occur across the service www.migrantsystems.com
  10. 10. Why is it becoming a Big Deal?  Using high-scale/low-cost providers,  Any time/place access via web browser,  Rapid scalability; incremental cost and load sharing,  Can forget need to focus on local IT.  Privacy, security www.migrantsystems.com
  11. 11. Issues With Cloud  Requires a constant Internet connection:  Does not work well with low-speed connections:  Stored data might not be secure: – With cloud computing, all your data is stored on the cloud. • The questions is How secure is the cloud?  Stored data can be lost: – Theoretically, data stored in the cloud is safe, replicated across multiple machines.  General Concerns: – Each cloud systems uses different protocols and different APIs • may not be possible to run applications between cloud based syste www.migrantsystems.com
  12. 12. Cloud Future We are still in the early stages of Cloud Computing. Many Researches says that the grow of Cloud Computing is un stoppable in the near future. To understand this, lets look few reports from popular research analyst firms published in the last one year,  Gartner: Cloud computing will become the bulk of new IT spend by 2016. From 2012 through 2017, across all segments of the cloud computing market, cloud services revenue is projected to have a CAGR of 33.2%, with SaaS and IaaS growth rates projected to be 34.4% and 39.8% respectively Cisco Consulting Services (CCS): The study surveyed 4,226 IT leaders in 18 industries across 9 key economies, including 600 from India. Wherein about 83% of respondents in India were “very satisfied” and another 13% “somewhat satisfied” with cloud, representing a total 96% positive rating. VMware, Inc. Cloud index: A study, conducted by Forrester Research across 12 Asia Pacific countries, reveals that nearly 89% respondents in India believe that Cloud Computing, or ‘as-a-service’ approach, is relevant to their organization and nearly 79% say they currently have a cloud-related initiative in place within the organization, or are planning to implement cloud, or ‘as-a-service’ approach, in the next 12 months. www.migrantsystems.com
  13. 13. Cloud Job Opportunities  Most of the organizations are venturing into the world of cloud computing by moving some part of their services from the individual user level to cloud level, resulting in provision of public cloud or private cloud to users.  This requires a need of “expert group” in the organization not only to create the cloud, but also to sustain the cloud. This is a new technology and hence bring careers to many. With the increasing trend to bring more and more services to the cloud, there exits many job opportunities for fresher as well as experts.  Since most of the services or applications can be provided through Internet or through web services, software development skills such as web services, AJAX and SOAP, etc. provide more job opportunities. www.migrantsystems.com
  14. 14. Cloud Research in Migrant Cloud Computing is the new Buzz word in Education. Because of its flexibility to create, share, save and collaborate from any where, any time and any place MIGRANT is embracing the concept of Cloud Computing for creating flexible learning environments. In near future devices such as iPhones, iPod's and tablets give access to these new environments on the go and at the touch of the screen. www.migrantsystems.com
  15. 15. Conclusion  Cloud Computing is outpacing the IT industry  Real business value can be realized by customers of all sizes  Cloud solutions are simple to acquire, don’t require long term contracts and are easier to scale up and down as needed  Proper planning and migration services are needed to ensure a successful implementation  Public and Private Clouds can be deployed together to leverage the best of both  Third party monitoring services ensure customer are getting the most out of their cloud environment  Security Compliance and Monitoring is achievable with careful planning and analysis www.migrantsystems.com
