Hoya jam
1. The 201516 season for the Georgetown Hoyas is guaranteed to be one of the most
memorable ever. The Hoyas will renew Classic Rivalries with Syracuse and Maryland, in
addition to battling for another Big East crown. Off the court, the Hoyas have found a
new OnAir home in WJFK The Fan. With the growing excitement for opening day
combined with the historic significance of this season, it is the perfect moment for a new
production to satisfy the passion of the Hoya Fans. Introducing:
HOYA JAM WITH MICHAEL GRAHAM
What? A new postgame wrap up show following every Hoya Men’s Basketball game during the
201516 season.
When? As soon as the legendary Rich Chvotkin finishes his playbyplay, he throws it to HOYA
JAM where the host and analysts recap the game, talk about key moments and
performances, and take live calls from listeners wanting to comment or ask questions.
Who? The title character of the show is Georgetown Legend Michael Graham. Graham was a
member of Georgetown’s 1984 National Championship team, where alongside Patrick
Ewing he was a part of one of the most powerful frontcourts in the history of College
Basketball. Although he only played for one season as a Hoya, he is forever etched in the
history of the program. He is loved by Hoya Fans and will assuredly be a person that the
fans are interested in hearing from.
The host of the show will be Tony Limarzi, Georgetown graduate and Georgetown
Basketball expert. Limarzi has worked with the Washington Wizards, Washington Capitals
and D.C. United as an onair host and PlaybyPlay announcer both on TV and Radio. He
has also worked with the Georgetown Hoyas in an array of roles dating back to 1998.
Why? Timing is everything, and this season is completely unique for Hoya fans. This will be the
first time the Hoyas will face Syracuse on the court since the Orange left the Big East two
seasons ago. December 5th will be one of the most compelling matchups of the season in
the entire country. Additionally, the Hoyas will be playing against the Maryland Terps in
College Park. The crosstown rivals haven’t agreed to play each other in over 20 years,
and every sports fan in the Metro Area will be tuned in to see who wins local bragging
rights.
With incredible matchups like Maryland and Syracuse, the typical talent and power of the
Big East, and the excitement of March Madness to wrap it all up, this season will be a
thrill ride from beginning to end. Hoya fans will be looking to bring themselves closer to
their favorite team and HOYA JAM WITH MICHAEL GRAHAM will be a new
exciting way to make sure Hoya Fans can quench their passion for Georgetown Basketball.
