To Whom It May Concern,
Michael Favero was the assistant geologist for Jervois Mining Limited on a 34 hole air core
drilling program on our Companies scandium in-laterite resource near Fifield in NSW.
The program was undertaken between the 7th
and the 17th
of May 2015.
Michael was chosen, by interview, from other students due to his academic background and
suitability for the work.
Michael worked in a semi-remote area with a group of other geologists, field hands and a
drill crew. He started at 6am each day and often was not finished until after 7pm.
His duties, under the supervision of senior geologist Michael Ostrowski (representing
Rangotts Mineral Exploration Services) were to log the drilling while on-site, complete the
chip trays, keep note of the standby and blockages of the drill rig, drive the Company 4WD,
assist in selecting and transporting sample on his return to Melbourne, use a satellite GPS to
locate holes, sample each core interval for magnetic resistivity, load pallets with bulk
sample, and other duties as they arose.
Michael proved to be a hardworking and conscientious person who asked relevant
questions and was able to adjust to the work expected of him easily. His drill logs were
detailed and clearly written. His confidence with his assigned tasks improved over time and
he was at all times punctual and presented himself professionally. Michael learned a great
deal about the way a drilling program is undertaken and the geology of the surrounding
area.
I can highly recommend Michael for any similar position as an assistant or junior geologist.
