whereas violet has
shortest wavelength.

3. The atmosphere of the earth
is composed of very fine
dust particles. These dust
particles are very small and
are thus not effective in
scattering longer
wavelength of light (like red)
but are effective in
scattering in shorter
wavelength of light (mainly
blue and violet).

4. This is because the
size of these
particles is shorter
than wavelength of
red but big enough
to scatter
wavelength of blue
and violet. Thus sky
appears blue.
